China has occupied Tibet for almost fifty years. During this time, they have killed over one million Tibetans, committed countless human rights violations, practiced religious persecution, degraded the environment, and tried to destroy a culturally rich, compassionate, and irreplaceable way of life. The spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama, has been in exile in India during this time, acting as an advocate for his country in a peaceable manner. The world community must insist that the occupation of Tibet cease. Click on the icon at left for information about how you can help.
Practice random acts of kindness and senseless beauty, such as:
- paying someone else's expired parking meter
- paying for the car(s) behind you at a toll booth
- leaving a snack or drink in the vending machine for the next person to pick up
- picking up litter in someone else's neighborhood

My Criteria for this page are as follows:
- For the most part, I will select causes which do not seem to be well known. For example, although I am a vegetarian, I won't be including any links for that, because it is a cause that has become very publicized and people have already had the opportunity to make up their mind about it. If it is a cause you support, you can easily find info about ways to be active.
- For the most part, I will select links that enable you to practice activism online, including sending petitions and letters via email and forms.
- All of the links will specify some way you can help other than sending money.
- I will check out each link periodically to ensure that it is still active.
