Ignore and Die, Mortal
Okay, so I won't kill you. ;) But failure to comply with the rules means that your story will be rejected. No compromises, unless you have a really good reason.
- Story must be rated PG-13 or below.
Personally, I don't mind a story rated above that, but Geocities does. And since I'm too poor to afford a website of my own, I'll be in deep trouble if I get kicked out.
- Insert a disclaimer.
No sense in courting a legal disaster, yes?
- Spellcheck your story.
I cannot stress enough the importance of spellchecking one's work. Everyone, myself included, has been guilty of the odd mistake here and there. I can accept that. But when there's a misspelling every other word, I won't bother correcting them -- I'll just send the story back to the writer.
- Story must be in plain text (.txt) or HTML format.
You can also copy and paste your story into an e-mail. That's fine with me, but I won't even open an attached Word document or stories in any other format.
- Follow the Subreality/Writer's Cafe rules.
Read the FAQs. Tattoo them on your arms if you have to.
E-mail your stories to themuseandi@subreality.com, where they will be received with open arms. As long as you follow the rules, of course. ;) Don't forget to insert your name/handle, e-mail address, story title, and if possible a summary at the beginning of your story. Feel free to drop a message if you have any questions.
See, that wasn't too hard now, was it? :)
