STILL YOUNG AT 65

Can you relate to growing old, having escaped the bonds of youth?
There comes a day of reckonong, when we all must face the truth.

What is the truth that causes fear, in this our generation?
When in fact, we should be glad, and shout with jubilation.

Sure, we're all the butt of jokes, about being over the hill.
For me, I'm proud, I've come this far, it's not such a bitter pill.

Granted, lots of things have changed, but progress makes us stronger.
I still can do the things I did, it just takes a little longer !

I'm wiser from the things I've learned, yesterday, today, and hence.
With a little education, and a lot of common sense.

I wouldn't trade my life today, for one day from my past.
I've had the chance to right my wrongs, and learned to make them last.

I have no way of knowing, when I'll face the hand of death.
But I plan to be here quite a spell, and enjoy, til' my last breath.

I don't "feel" old; just "older", I enjoy life quite a lot.
If given choice, I can truly state, I'd rather be old,---than NOT.
