THE BLAHS

OMG!! January again and here I sit
dreading the winter snow and cold
Naught to do but exercise to keep fit
'Tis the perfect month for feeling old

I could clean house, but that's so boring
I've made three pots of soup so far
It's the holiday let-down i'm abhoring
and the passing of the Christmas Star

I love the hustle-bustle and the noise
The quietness of Christmas Eve
The kids when they open their gifts of toys
The phrase," it's better to give than to receive"

Then in the evening I leave it all
And go back to my so quiet home
It's nice for awhile but then begins to pall
And I wish for company to come

But the New Year passes and life goes on
And January blahs fills all the space
Just thirty one days and it will be gone
And then there's February to face

It's just as bad but the end is in sight
In March the crocus will lift it's head
So, January and February I'll endure
I'll simply hibernate in bed.
