She could make Mitch move, and he played well like he should. There in Mitch's eyes were the diamonds that glittered, and they made him shine like a star no matter what he wore. "That's right! I'll keep him in line." It was funny. Mitch was giggling and he was a truly happy man. Those moments she remembered so clearly. Good times that you thought would never end. Then Mitch laid his hands on the keys of his keyboard and looked straight into her eyes. "How do you keep a girl from moving away?" Barely stopping to take a breath, he continued. "You ask her to marry you!" Her prince, he looked so handsome and she wanted to run to him and never let him go. "I know how to get you to stay. I am going to ask you to marry me!" Everyone turned to look, and they were watching her, and she looked up at him and for a moment forgot that there was anyone else in the room but the two of them. She knew he really did mean it, and her heart was bursting with deep-felt passion. She felt that he reached into her soul like a lightning bolt and caressed every part of her being. His eyes penetrated through the dimly-lit room as if he could see right through her. It felt like he was standing right in front of her and she remembered before how he had said that he loved her. How very intense her feelings were for him. Everyone was staring, and it was like a thousand flashbulbs from a thousand cameras with the blinding brilliance, searing her eyes. In reality there were a thousand eyes watching. It was like the rush when the wind gets knocked right out of you, though it is so thrilling and encompassing. There as she stood, her breath came short and she could barely stand, and there was no one to hold her up. Her knees were wobbly and his arms weren't there to hold her. He was on the stage and it seemed a million miles away. As far away as he was he felt what she did. It was as if he stood there within her and you could see the pressure mounting in his eyes.....
..."She is precious.""  He turned quickly.  Mona was standing there glaring at him.  "You didn't think I would just disappear, did you?  With the snap of your fingers, did you?"  She looked evil.  Her flinger flicked up toward his face.  "Here are some more pictures I thought you would like to have."  She tossed them on top of the bar.  A few of them landed in drops of water.  The red ink from the marker she used to write on the pictures smeared and it looked like blood.  It made his stomach queasy.  "They are of Devra, in all different places sweetie."

..."Look here.  Her earrings, the blue earrings."...

He looked up at her.  Holding back his tears, he touched the pretty blue earrings.  His lips quivered remembering that evening.  "Leave her alone."

"No."  Mona moved closer.  She stood a few inches taller than Mitch.  He swallowed hard.  He watched as her hand moved from her pocket.  He was afraid that she had a gun...
