Like I said before, battles in Neopia will have changed alot. I'll explain more down here.
Weapons
You know about "Battle Magic", right? Well, this is going to be alot more detailed. Here's a list of the different weapon types:

Swordsman: Fights best with swords or daggers.

Axeman
: Works well with axes, maces, and hammers.

Wand Waver
: Uses magic wands and rods to cast spells.

Ringbearer
: Casts spells using rings instead of wands.

Twin Blade
: Likes to fight with pairs of small blades, as well as tonfa.

Fist Fighter
: Prefers hand-to-hand combat.

Scythe Swinger
: Uses scythes and other sickle-bladed weapons.

Staff Fighter
: Fights with bo staffs, naginatas, sanjiegun, spears, and swallows.

Slinger: Prefers using bow-and-arrows, slingshots, guns, and other long-range weapons.

Allies
No more having to fight with just one pet. Now you can have parties of up to four, including your character. This can be very good because now your enemies will have take down four opponents instead of just one. Plus, your characters will be able to heal each other as well as themselves. The only problem is your enemies may fight in groups as well.

Battle Auras
Like innates in Chrono Cross, battle auras are an elemental energy that affects attack and defense power. Battle auras are based on the six element spheres. You can do extra damage to enemies of certain aura types by attacking them with an opposing aura or ability. Having abilities, weapons, or armor of a certain type will enhance the aura of the same type, but you can only have one active aura at a time, and can only switch your active aura in Field Mode.

Battledome
Don't worry, it's still around. The Battldome is the only place where your pets can battle the pets of other users. The Battledome uses the Battle Mode format, except for one difference, it's one-on-one. Human vs. Pet matches are not allowed, so the human character can only fight in the arena if his/her opponent is also a human.
