Strikes/Stand Up
-Opponent round kicks ribs: double arm parry through, round kick leg, hook, round kick leg
-Opponent jab, crosses: front push kick to counter, jab, round kick to leg, grab neck & knee
-Opponent push kicks: parry leg, hook, cross, switch step, round kick to leg
-Body hook & uppercut with same hand, cross, round kick to leg
Throws/Takedowns
-Flying arm bar
-Flying Kimora (first try waki - opponent behind you)
-Fireman’s - to Kesa modified (can perform from a guillatine)
-Opponent behind you; lock arm, step around, roll to waki or side mount
Side Mount (Includes: Kesa, HH, Reverse Kesa)
-Arm around neck, grab far ankle, squeeze head to foot, body crank
-Kesa: attempt shoulder crank with leg, opponent resists, grab hand, let opponent turn over, throw arm behind knee, shoulder crank in mid air
-HH: encircle arm around neck and arm, grab hands together, post foot and break neck
Escapes
-From guard: double grapevine; reach between legs with both hands & grab belt, lift hips so opponent is on head, pass to side mount
-From guard: grapevine/elevator; roll over grapevined leg footward & grab other ankle - knee bar with legs, knee pinch or ankle lock
-From triangle: grab belt, push & shake while arching back to escape
-From arm bar on stomach: throw legs over opponent’s body, take opponent’s back
-From side mount: push head away, triangle or arm bar or take opponent to back
-From side mount: grab crotch & neck, bridge over to side mount
-From side mount: bear hug opponent, trap leg with far foot, bump & slide other leg to half guard
-From knee in stomach: reach around ankle & grab thigh, elbow to knee, knee bar or side mount
-From knee in stomach: grab leg with far arm, scissor legs, hook leg, go to knees, take to back
-From knee in stomach: grab hip & other pant leg, push away & scoot to guard
-From Kesa: bump & slide knee under butt, turn over to back, arm bar
-From Kesa: bump & slide knee under butt, take back, choke
-From Kesa: elbow to knee & put hand on mat, post head on mat, walk headward and arch neck, take to back
-From Kesa: grab opponent’s wrist with both hands in a bear hug, bridge over to side mount
-From Turtle: opponent has hook in & attempts choke, grab arm & pull to other side of head, grab head & pull under you, side mount (or just turn to back)
-From Turtle: opponent has hooks in, flatten out & block choke, put one leg between opponent’s legs, push with elbow & turn to guard
-From Turtle: if choke & hooks applied; come up on toes, mule kick, grab elbow & shake off
-From Turtle: if on back getting choked; remove hand from behind neck, arm bar under armpit
-From Turtle: if on back getting choked; pull down on arm, bridge quickly & push leg off with elbow, sit on leg, bring knees to chest & go to guard
-From opponent throwing legs: mule kick & go to guard or grab hip & pull, hop to side mount
-From ankle lock: grab gi & kick thru, go to mount (or grab own foot & pull to elevator)
-From ankle twist: spin to stomach, foot on butt, elbow to knee & kick out
-From foot lock: spin thru to guard
-From standing headlock: grab waist & wrist, sweep leg between opponent’s to side mount
-From standing headlock: grab waist & behind knee, lift & throw backwards
-From standing headlock: step over arm & Kentucky flyaway
-From hip toss: bear hug & roll through
-Escape throw from behind by standing switch, hook shin with shin, throw sideways, side mount
-From opponent jumping to guard: stand until opponent is tired, peel leg off & still stand
Escapes from Arm Bar
-Bump hard and drive elbow to ground, push hamstring with knee, go elbow to knee to other side and ankle twist
Guard Reversals
-Double elevator to ankle twist or knee bar
-Double grapevine; opponent stands, master grip around knee, spin to key lock
Counters
-Opponent attempts single leg: dive to far leg and roll to left lock
-Counter Kesa or side mount: push head, figure four legs, triangle or arm bar or go to headward holdown
-Opponent jumps into guard: push face sideways and slam on head
-Opponent attempts Waki from standing: spin backwards & shoulder crank throw
-Opponent bear hugs from behind: lock arm, step behind leg, roll to Waki or Kesa
-Opponent stands in guard & tries to slam you: stand, hook leg, take to back, straight knee bar with legs
-Opponent attempts ankle lock in guard: mount & stand, turn to key lock on arm
-Opponent attempts ankle lock in guard: arm bar
-Opponent attempts ankle lock in guard: grab sleeve, slide other leg through to figure four legs, key lock arm by grabbing head
-Opponent bends arms in mount or headward holdown: key lock arm
-Opponent bumps & bridges you over from mount: slip elevator in and roll through to mount again
-Opponent in side mount on top with elbows on other side of body: grab lapel, under hook body & grab back lapel, spin sideways & gi choke
-Opponent bridges in Judo arm bar: slide leg under back to triangle
-Opponent shoots & grabs leg: over-under toss to neck crank
-SAB: grab lapel, step over shoulder, choke
-SAB: roll sideways & kick leg to Kesa
-SAB: master grip around neck, pull to neck crank
-SAB: spin leg around & take back
