WSF Green Belt Requirements

Strikes/Stand Up
-Elbow strikes
-Elbow counters: double elbow; bob; or grab neck
-Knee strikes (grab neck)
-Knee counter (grab arms, block with elbows; knee blocks)
Throws/Takedowns
-Whizzer (chicken wing, grab other arm, step to throw)
-Japanese Whizzer: can switch to shoulder throw sideways
-Fall to back, hook instep, roll to mount
-Fall to back, hook feet around opponent’s legs, pull forward & sideways to mount
Side Mount (Includes: Kesa, HH, Reverse Kesa)
-Knee in stomach: spin to knee bar, key lock or foot lock
-Knee in stomach: spin to other side and arm bar
-Knee in stomach: grab lapel on same side of neck and lift, kick leg to other side of head, choke
-Knee in stomach: opponent pushes you away by going elbow to knee, reverse arm bar
Escapes from Guard
-Hold shoulders, stand, pivot, drop knee in stomach, side mount or knee bar (can push head to step over)
-Grab head, stand, arch pelvis, sit on opponent, neck crank; or side mount; or ankle lock
Leg Techniques
-From guard: arm drag, figure four knee pinch
-Boston crab from round kick catch
-Opponent crosses legs while ankle locking; heel hook, left lock or double ankle lock
-Ankle lock under opposite arm
Guard
-Triangle (with arm bar, pull head) - can do double arm triangle
-Triangle to arm bar to knee bar combo
-Grab cross lapel with thumb inside, turn to opposite hip, grab shoulder lapel, choke
-Reach around neck, grab bicep, reach other arm under armpit, choke
Guard Reversals
-Opponent stands; kick leg down and around to knee bar
-Hip forward to mount
Mount
-Opponent rolls, grab arm, arm bar from stomach
-Opponent reaches under leg; tilt sideways, lift head & slide leg around neck, figure four legs, triangle
-Arm bar resistance: lace leg with your leg & dorsiflex foot on arm, pull with leg or push shin against bicep to break
-SAB but opponent rolls into you; triangle
Turtle/KK (Knee-to-Knee)
-Guillotine to neck crank
-Hangman’s choke
-Reach across neck to grab far tricep, hook leg under stomach to hip, grab leg, roll to arm bar
-Reach across neck to grab far tricep, roll sideways to body crank
Miscellaneous Escapes
-Escape side mount: trap leg with your leg, grab other foot, bridge to side mount
-Escape standing guillotine: wheel, go to side mount or knee bar
-Escape mount; turn on side, trap foot with opposite foot, push knee away, elbow to knee, go to guard
Counters
-Counter triangle by throwing shoulder to ground, side mount
-Counter triangle by spinning to knee bar
-Counter triangle by throwing leg over hips, fall backwards, knee bar
-Counter standing guillotine by throwing arm over back, jump to side, take to back, spin to arm bar
Weapons Defense
-Opponent clubs overhead; opposite hand block, reach around club, grab weapon
