WSF Yellow Belt Techniques

Strikes/Stand Up - Jab, cross, hook, head push
- Round kick to leg (outer, inner, front), or ribs
- Round kick blocks (shin; leg slide; leg grab; leg push to round kick; elbows, shoulders/hand, double forearm)
- Hook counter (shoulder strike; elbow strike; bob)
Throws/Takedowns - Ogoshi (from punch parry or under hook-grab belt)-stomp or take backwards
- Hip toss(can stomp)
- Double leg/single leg(to ankle lock or side mount)
- Opponent round kicks leg; grab ankle, grab waist, sweep,ankle lock
Side Mount (Kesa, HH, Rev. Kesa) - Kesa: trap arm with lower leg & arm bar
-Kesa: trap arm with upper leg & shoulder crank (grab head or hip forward or backward)
-Grab far wrist & shoulder crank upward by bringing elbow close to ribs (can move to other side of head or step over head)
-Grab far wrist & downward shoulder crank (can move to Kesa or roll footward)
-If opponent straightens arm; straight arm bar
-If opponent blocks with knee; slide knee across stomach to mount                        
Escapes from Guard-Grab belt,push back,pop up to squat w/knee between legs,pass knee over leg, side mount or ankle lock
Leg Techniques - Knee bar (head over ankle; grab hamstring; curl legs or straight & crossed; opponent turns, break medial collateral)
- Key lock on leg
- Foot lock
- In opponents guard squatting with knee between legs; spin to knee bar
Escape from Mount - Opponent tries a naked choke; lock arm & leg & roll to inside guard
Escape from Guard - In half guard; push shoulder into neck, use instep to traction, go to mount
Mount - Double lapel choke same side
- Fist choke
- Scissor choke (or grab both sleeves)
- Reach around neck & grab cross lapel, push head to wrist to choke
Guard- Double arm bar (can push wrists outward or go to single arm bar)
- Reach around head and grab bicep, neck crank
Turtle/Knee to Knee - Grab cross lapel, switch hands choke (by dropping elbow) 
-Opponent sits out; grab cross lapel, push head forward with chest & choke
-KK; Pull to guard by spinning (can take it to arm bar)
-KK; Duck under to turtle
Guard Reversals - Opponent stands; grab ankles & pull to mount or double ankle lock
- Feet in hips with opponent punching relentlessly; push off hard with foot or kick, stand to escape
Misc. Escapes- Escape throw from behind; drop hips, peel thumb off, hip forward & break free, leg kick 
-Escape single leg takedown by pushing head and hooking leg, straighten leg & break free, leg kick
Counters - Counter shoulder crank by grabbing own wrist & push; bridge out; or quick elbow to knee & pull arm free
- Opponent attempts Judo throw; throw elbow into hip or hand on sacrum, choke from behind
- Opponent shoots; sprawl, cross face, spin to turtle
- Opponent attempts gi choke; hand on top of head; wrist (10) locks; or beardown on arms & arch forward
Weapons Defense - Opponent clubs overhead; step into shoulder crank
