OUR MISSION

We are a community of people together, seeking to serve Jesus while bringing others to a knowledge of His saving grace.


VISION STATEMENT

We will strive to know Jesus better, honour Him in a more excellent way, and assist others to come into a covenant relationship through obedience to His word. Together, we will strive to grow into a loving community of more mature believers.
To this end, we will provide meaningful worship experiences, dynamic teaching of His word, purposeful interaction with one another, and worthwhile service to our surrounding community.


OUR GOALS

With the assistance of God, we pray that by the year 2015, the West Side Church of Christ family will:
  1. demonstrate a life involving daily prayer and study of God's word
  2. demonstrate individual and collective growth through increased knowledge and commitment to teaching of the Holy Scriptures
  3. be a multiethnic, multicultural congregation of over 200 growing, committed Christians
  4. consist of individuals working together to build a stronger sense of Christian community where all are considered equal
  5. reach out into our neighbourhood and city to provide assistance to those with a variety of need
  6. be meeting in an expanded facility to accomodate our growth
  7. make better use of our facilities in meeting the needs of the congregation
  8. increase support to sister congregations and brotherhood organizations that provide assistance to others
  9. work together with sister congregations in the Great Lakes region to promote greater unity among believers
We will strive to fulfill Jesus' mission as stated in Luke 4:18-19
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach the good news to the poor
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
