Well Kids, it is in the can. My NEW SONG. It has yet to find a
name actually. It does have a name but Duncan is complaining it
is not very good "EE TOW" and may have people misunderstanding
the meaning. I just finished the mixing the other day and they
said they will put it out on MONDAY to the DJ's, which is
shocking to me too,cos you know, I would like to take my time,
but well, if you are all interested, you go ahead and tell me
what you think of it. Once you have sang a song so many times
and it is just swimming around my head, its hard to know if its
nice or not nice, so you will all have to JUDGE it for me.
AGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! The time of TRUTH.
This is one of the hardest songs I have ever sung because it has
14 octaves. It goes from the lowest I can go, to the highest I can
go. When I first got into the studio, I thought I was going to
CHOKE literally. I really regretted choosing this song and I
really regretted Eric Kwok giving it to me finally.
Alvin Leung gave me many songs to choose from and I chose 2 from
Eric Kwok after 2 weeks of deliberation (takes me awhile to decide).
The songs sounded very easy to sing with Eric singing La la on the
Demo. BUT, when we went to tell Eric, he had accidently thought we
didn't want it and gave it to someone else!!!! We were in a rush
for Po leung so I said they HAVE to get it for me, and MUST get me
the one he himself titled 1968. We were lucky, cos that producer
already recorded the other one so we crossed our finger on the one
we really wanted. So they pleaded and pushed and begged and Eric
Finally got it back from the other producer (giving him another
song in replacement). He talked to me on the phone and asked me
the Key and promptly told me that it will be the hardest song I ever
sing because 1. It is written for male singer, (which i cannot
believe) 2. It has 14 Octaves making it impossible for a Female to
grasp it at all. The highest key is an E flat which he says no
singer can sing that high in HKG. I was quite confident because I
know I can sing that high, but just barely. When I heard this I
got a lump in my throat but there was no choice anymore cos I
wouldn't have been able to make it in time for Po Leung and try to
remember the lyrics too. SOOOO, we recorded it and when I first sang
it I thought I must be RUSTY having not sang so long and there was
an hour of DREAD trying to open up my voice. Sigh..... now its
finished in its entirety and Eric did a great job with Arrangement
which in the mixing I took the priority to push up the instruments
that I liked best. Hee hee.. I got all the people on this song that
are very talented and that I like most so I am finally happy with
the results. It was the best we could do. I hope you will be too!

PS Eric asked me what was the hardest song to sing, and it wasn't
this one it was Nuey Yun Dik Yuek Deem which took 3 days and nights
to get right, and all the songs I sang that I hated!

TO ALL....
All your speculation is scaring me to no end. Please don't expect
a "perfect" album. I'm already having such a hard time these
days. So far after hearing 15 songs or so, I have only chosen
THREE and I cannot get a hold of any one of them!!! Theres a song
I like which is a cover, but we cannot get the rights in time to
do Po Leung because the copyrights need to be cleared from Italy
and Italy is on Holiday for one whole month in Aug! The other 2
songs I had in my hands, GREAT songs!, but the writer gave it to
us, then gave it to someone else too!! This is unheard of bad
principal behavior and my Producer is steaming and I told them
they HAVE to get it. They have not called me yet today so I'm
pretty upset about this.
So it is not easy to get good songs. It is a drag. Please don't
expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Thanks. I am, at
the moment, feeling quite powerless.... Sigh..
