Essies Cobbler
This is a good cake like cobbler with fruit under the cake. it is real good, we have had this in are family for many years.
1/4 cup soft Butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Drain fruit saveing 1 cup juice, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar.
Heat oven to 375 , cream together butter and sugar until fluffy and smooth.
Pour into loaf pan 10X5X3 or 2 quart casserole, spoon fruit on batter, sprinkle with sugar, pour fruit juice over top.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes
Cake like layer forms on top.
