Daffodils are a sign of HOPE.

Now you can share this hope with others. The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days are a great way to let friends, family, and other special people in your life know you're thinking of them. You can honor someone special, brighten the day of someone touched by the disease, and help make our mission possible—all at the same time!
If anyone would like to join the committee for Daffodil Day Events please contact Mary Catherine

Welcome Everyone!!  My name is Melissa and I am a 5 year AML Survivor.  In the fall of 1999, I was given the diagnosis of Leukemia (AML).  Upon diagnosis, I was sent to Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, MD for inpatient treatment.  Too make a very long story very short I had a Matched Unrelated Donor Bone Marrow Transplant (MUD BMT) on July 11, 2001.  I have been 100% Cancer Free ever since.
Cancer has afected my life in so many ways.  Prior to my own diagnosis, my father was given a diagnosis of Bladder Cancer.  He has fought and won his battle and now is a survivor himself.  Unfortunately, in 2003 Cancer also struck my mother.  She lost her own battle in August of 2004.  My mother’s best friend (a 2nd mother to me) is also waging her own battle against an aggressive form of Cancer.
I’m currently on disability so I thought volunteering for the American Cancer Society would be such a perfect way for me to give something back.
I love to do home desktop publishing so it was a God Sent when I was contacted by Mary Catherine who wanted to do a newsletter for the West Sussex Relay for Life.
