1995 Vancouver Island

Three Years Later

This is one of the nicer places to visit in British Columbia as there are all types of wildlife and marine life here. I probably enjoy the back roads the most on the island. There are many lakes on this island to visit and camp at as I would like to take more time and explore Strathcome Park as I did not take any time to do this in 95. Other areas that I want to visit include Port Alice, Alert Bay, Tahsis, Ahousat on Flores Island, Hotspring Cove, take the trail to Cape Scott, and take a week kayak trip in Clayoquot Sound.

Places that I have went to and will go back to include Tofino-because of its laid back atmosphere, Kennedy Lake which had a nice clear lake with swimming, camping and backroads available; Denman Island with Fillongley park and nice scenary; Hornsby Island with its sandy beaches and local co-op stores and Vernon Lake that is isolated in north central part with mountains surrounding the lake.

I sometimes wonder if I would enjoy this area as much if I moved up here or is it the getting away from city life (Seattle) that makes this area such a nice place to visit. We have often wondered about moving up here but would probablly have a hard time relocating with jobs in our employment. It is a place that we would consider having a summer home at maybe somewhere in the future.
