The trip to the US was a blessing and showed His amazing timing and coordination of events.  We were originally planning to go to the US in May, but due to events here with a Bible seminar and some preparation, we were not able to go.  Little did we know God was moving some things around with us so we would be in the US during some very special events.  We only had three weeks to be there, and there was no other dates that we could have chosen.  We were there for three Saturdays and on each of those Saturdays we were blessed with special events.  On the first Saturday, a supporter and good friend from high school was married.  The next Saturday, we was a family reunion just outside of Sacramento.  We were in Sacramento to visit a church and we were able to be at the family reunion, where Chiqui could meet the whole family for the first time.  On the last Saturday, another supporter and good friend got married.  Truly God planned and timed everything.
We were very busy trying to take advantage of this trip that was obviously so divinely prepared.  Daily we were meeting at least two times with families, friends, and churches who are interested in what is going on here and are either currently supporting financially and/or prayerfully, or they are interested in doing so.  We were able to make many new contacts and there are a few people and churches interested in supporting through possible short-term teams, or becoming interns or missionaries in the future.  There was also a large response to prayer.  There are now a couple of youth groups who have taken on Tacna, Peru for whom they will regularly pray.  Families, friends, and supporters have dedicated to pray for us as a church, as leaders, and as matrimonies.  Many of whom are reading this newsletter and we thank you dearly.  As for financial support, we have not had many answers yet.  Hopefully this week we will hear from some families and churches on where God is leading them to support.  We are trying to promote three main projects for the community and church: an educational scholarship program, a feeding program for poor children and elderly, and monthly salaries for the nationals that work in the church.  We were blessed this week with a confirmation from one family that will be sponsoring an internet cafe which will provide some funds to support the educational scholarships.  There are other one-time supports for a car and house that we have not been blessed with yet, but those are not as big of priorities for the church (but if anyone feels led to give for that, by all means give).  We ask your prayers for all the above mentioned things: projects, financial and prayer support, a successful internet cafe, and contacts for future hands on support.
In our time we were also able to have a little bit of free time, not much, but enough to go to Disneyland one day and swing by San Francisco one morning on the way back from Northern California.  We were very blessed to see friends and family, and God again reminded me that though I am very far from many people that I care very deeply about, they are blessing from Him and that is why I have chosen to come to Peru.  He is the one who blesses.  For all He has done for me from the cross to friends and family, I have no other way to show my gratitude and deep love toward Him than to obey His word and Go.
We thank each and every one of you for your support financial, prayerfully, and with emails filled with love and encouragement.  Your support is what helps us to keep going, working hard with Him to advance His kingdom.
May God bless you all with knowledge and understanding of His love and His will in your lives and His kingdom.
