Minimum Tank Size and/or Tank Type= A 12G (50L) community tank Favourite Foods= Live, Artifical and plant foods such as algal growths Other Info= These fish are a good substitue for Algae-Eaters in a small tank. Breeding Info= TANK: A 12G (50L) Tank or more, well-lit in part, otherwise with dim lighting. GENDER: The mlae is smaller and slimmer. BREEDING RATIO: You should try to breed them in a shoal, with a preponderance of males. BREEDING WATER: 20-23C (68-74F); pH of 6.5; dCH < 2; dGH max. 10; fresh, oxygen-rich, streaming water provided by circulating activated coal filters. OTHER BREEDING INFO: The female are not particularly prolific; they stick their eggs on plants, stones and/or the glass sides of the aquarium. The eggs are small and sticky, the incubation period is about 2-3 days (48-72 Hours) at 20C (68F). The eleutherembryos should be sucked up with a tube 1/8" (3mm) in diameter and transfered to flat nursery tanks with water column 1-2" (3-5CM) high.
