| Hi,...I'm Kay. This is my homepage (Care Bears Corner)which you have been looking around and I hope you like what you see so far. -About the site and how it started- I have had Care Bears Corner up and running since May of 2000. I first put up the site to go with the Yahoo! Care Bear club I made in October 1999, which is still around today with over 200 members, although now a group. This site has come a long way in 2 years,...the sites design and graphics have been changed many times, we have had many people adopt cartoon dolls with care bear symbols, and most of all we have been viewed almost 4000 times!!! Woa! I am always wanting to make the site better so if you have any suggestions plez email me,..thanx :) -How I got RE-interested in the Care Bears- Being born in the late 80's I caught the tail end of the Care Bears. My mom would buy me Care Bear keychains and magnets when they were on sale at discount stores and I loved them. I watched the Care Bears on TV and sometimes in videos with my cuzins. "The Nutcracker Suite" was our favorite around christmas time. We had so much fun dacing around to the music in our grandparents living room while eating skittles. I never had a plush Care Bear when I was young so I didnt really realize that they existed until I was in Wal-mart during 1999 when I saw a man celebrating St. Patricks day or something...he had a Goodluck Bear strapped on to the front of his Lark or moving wheelchair/vehical/thing. I hadnt thought anything about the Care Bears for a really long time,...probably ten years or so but something clicked in my head and I felt interested in them all over again. I went home and searched my house for Care Bear things finding some keychains, a suitecase, and a book or two. I was excited and started looking for things in antique and thrift shops finding Care Bear items bit by bit. I had just started using the internet that year so I decided to go looking for Care Bear sites. I found wishbear.net and a few others which helped me learn more about the Care Bears but there wernt nearly as many CB sites out there as there three years ago as there are now. I then decided to start my club on Yahoo! and then this site. It was kinda hard back then being 12 building a site and club but in the process I have made some great friends who have helped me and I thank you all, you know who you are ;) And the rest I guess is history. -A Little About Me- My name is Kay, I am 15, in 9th grade, live in Califonia and enjoy the Care Bears! Anyways,...I have been seriously collecting for about 3 years now. I havent bought anything off of eBay yet or traded on the net but I still have a pretty big collection just from looking in Antique stores and thrips shops. My mom is my best way of getting CBs because she finds it fun to go out at least once a week to find something for me,...and she usually does. My collection is a growing one and is starting to take up to much space in my very small room so I will hopefully have my mom start to help me sell some of my doubles on eBay...if everything goes right that is. Ok,...more about me,...who I am,...what I like to do,..stuff like that...hehehe... I live in a small town which I classify as "in the middle of nowhere" or "Hickville USA" as my friends call it. I attend a very small high school of only 575 kids, 60 of them which I have known since childhood. Although it is small and I know everyone 3 times over, I still like it. When I am not at school working hard during my endless freshmean year (thankgoodness summer is getting close)...I hang out with my tight bunch of friends. We have lots of fun together doing lots of different things. We go play football at the near by field,...go disco bowling,..or hang out at the mall,..ash and my latest adventure was walking around the mall with a camera and accidentaly taking pictures of cute guys...I still have to get those developed. But over all I couldnt have better friends! I have a very loving family who I just adore. They are so much fun and have a sense of humor. We all go on family vacations and just have fun. My latest outing with my family was to Dillon Beach,..I had an awesome time w/ my cuzins. We had a set of adventures and funny stories we can now tell our friends. I feel so blessed to be part of them. |
