We had this favorite English teacher back in high school, she was quite short and petite, and had a high pitched voice.  The usual joke was that everybody should watch their step or else they'd squish the prof.  She just laughed along with the jokes but I think it really hurt her inside.  I once saw her in the faculty room with a sad look on her face, and I really felt guilty of it.
