Fic by: Heero no Miko.

Disclaimer: I do not own GW. I wish I did. But everyone does, so… I do however own Mineko. I am simply writing this for entertainment purposes only. There are a few warnings and notes I would like to point out regarding this fic. First of all, you are warned that there are a few scenes in here that may contain some OOC. But not much. And second, this is a yaoi fic. But it only mentions a few yaoi facts. A few as in maybe two or three times. Other than that this is a pretty normal fic. It’s kind of a romance thing, which I can tell you that I’m not good at all with romance. There is also come mild language and violence, but not much. I suppose that’s it. Any comments and/or flames are welcome. pikachu11546@yahoo.com. Feel free to drop me a line any time. Day or night. I will get it and hopefully reply.

She lied on Wufei’s old bed. Motionlessly and unblinkingly staring up at the blank ceiling. The ceiling of the last safe house they had ever visited. The last safe house they where together in.

Mineko turned onto her side, her back facing the closed door.

She felt like shit. She hadn’t slept or eaten much in the past weak. She only weighed 85 lbs. Instead of 97 like she used to. She was always skinny, but this was just outrageous. She had dark circles under her eyes, and the scars she had gotten from the last battle they fought in against Marimeia, shown like little puffy pink lines on her body. And worst of all, she had an emptiness inside the pit of her heart. She was completely and utterly alone.

Treize of coarse was found floating in space, just barely still alive with an oxygen mask and tank he had some how obtained some time after the war with OZ. She only found out later by doing a background check on some OZ officers. She some how managed to find this out bye running across some medical files to a nearby hospital. This wasn’t until before the Marimeia incident. Her whereabouts where unknown. Treize though, He was in a coma, but she still didn’t like that Wufei didn’t finish him off. They knew nothing of this. Heero had gone of to work at some airport. Relena went back to being Vise Foreign Minister Dorian. Une was working for the Preventers as where Duo and Hilde. Trowa went back to the circus. Wufei went back to the newly rebuilt Colony L5, and Quatre went to live at his ‘mansion’.

Mineko was left to forever stay in that time line. To never again see her brother or childhood friends. Vegita, Gokuu, Kuririn. They where all gone. She had nothing left. No money. No home. Nothing.

She dropped from her thoughts about how scared she was of her future, and she smelled the sheets.

The bed was in the farthest corner of the room against two walls. There where no windows in that corner of the room. But she was right next to a closet. An empty, hallow closet. “Mm…” She breathed out. She half expected, half cursed herself for thinking it would happen. But she was hopping Duo would pop his head around the corner and say something like, “Oi. Is Wu-man in here?” or, “Have you seen Fei-man anywhere round here?” But he didn’t. The house was dead silent.

She had visited every safe house they had ever stayed at. Including that old windmill Mineko found in the middle of a forest beside a lake.

She had taken a picture of the gang in every safe house they had been in for the last year. It was the only thing she had to remember them all by. There faces, strangely enough, where slipping from her memory.

They where all gone now, and she was left with mere memories and thoughts of things about them. And worse. Wufei was gone. No. Her Wufei was gone. The Wufei she had taught to love once again.

She reached under the mattress to find a stack of pictures. She looked through them and laughed.

She found one of the gang in a small cabin in the middle of a wood. She laughed at the silly pic. “Duo…” Her voice trailed off. She looked at Duo as he hung upside down from the ceiling as the others glared at him. The picture was slanted because Mineko was laughing at something Duo had said when she was taking it.

She went through them some more. And came across one of Heero trying to grab his trunks after they floated to the top of the water after he had dove in. That one was at Quatre mansion actually. After she took the picture, she remembers she dropped the camera and fell with it laughing. She laughed so hard she rolled into the pool. Heero just glared and cursed at her. Luckily, after being dropped, the camera was still functional.

She found another one of Sky and Wufei having an argument about whose version of ‘justice’ was better and the right way. Mineko never did know who won. She scratched her head puzzled. Shortly after the picture was taken, he left the gang. Never to be seen again.

Mineko went through yet more pictures and found the last one with Sky. She glared at it. It was on the last day he was with them, just as he was leaving. She then softened as she looked at it more. She finally began to smile and laugh slightly as she remembered how that picture came to be.

“Hey, Duo!” Sky called out as he looked at Duo.

“Yeah man?” Duo asked as he shoved a chip in his mouth, turning to Sky.

“Hey. Can you take a pic of Mineko and me before I go” Sky threw the camera to Duo, who caught it.

“Sure man.” Duo got the camera ready. Sky then whispered something in Duo’s ear. Mineko wasn’t aware of any of this.  Duo’s eyes went wide then he began to chuckle. “Right.”

Sky walked over to Mineko who was busy with something, and told her something that made her head pop up. Duo couldn’t quite here. She then walked over with Sky about halfway to where Duo was. Mineko put her arm around Sky’s shoulder and Sky put his arm around hers. Mineko smiled and put up a peace sign. Just before Duo was about to take the picture, Sky winked and then grabbed Mineko’s face and kissed her. Full on the lips. The last kiss he gave her before he left. The only kiss he ever got from her.

“What th…?” Mineko was cut off by the kiss. Duo snapped the pic and Sky ran from Mineko, laughing. Duo and the others, even Heero had to laugh. “Get back here Sky Shi!!!” She called after her him. When he finally got into his ship and shut the door, he looked out of a small, round window at Mineko. Mineko, who was trying to be as angry as she could, but couldn’t hold back a single tear that streaked down her cheek, waved goodbye to Sky, trying to smile. Sky just winked at her. Then his ship left.

Mineko watched until the ship was out of site, as did the others, and then Mineko took off for the camera Duo had. Duo nearly dropped it as he ran from Mineko, and tried to shove a sandwich in him mouth at the same time.

Mineko remember that kiss like it wasn’t as long ago as it really was. But she knew it wasn’t yesterday. She knew that for a fact. She spent all of yesterday throwing up and sick to her stomach. Yesterday was Hell. A sleepless night, a day without food only getting rid of anything that ‘was’ in her stomach that it didn’t like. But she continued to smile at the picture anyways.

She laughed at all the silly pictures she had gathered. She was very lucky to have them.

About a weak later, they heard from someone that worked with Sky. He said he wanted a copy of that picture Duo took. So, against Mineko’s will, Duo gave it to him. Mineko put the pictures in the pocket of her jeans, and left the room. She looked back at it once more. And took in a deep breathe.

“Never again.” She told herself. She would never again come back here, or to any of the safe houses they where ever in. But that meant she would never again smell Wufei’s sweet sent. Never again be in the comforting aroma of his shampoo, or his cologne. Mineko would never again be able to spend her nights in his bed and sleep while he was out on a mission. No. She would never again have any of that. And she would never again be with the boys. She wanted so bad to star over, but she knew she couldn’t.

Mineko dropped to her knees in the door. She heard voices. So many voices.

“Duo! I need that spoon! You’re not Superman and that’s not your weapon!”

“Maxwell. Give me my katana! This is unjust!”

“Mineko! Have you seen where I put my sandwich?”

“Mineko. I need my mask.”

“Mineko, are you going to get out of my way. Or do I have to kill you.”

So many sounds, so many things running through her head. To many things. Not enough time. She couldn’t put up with it all. She was trembling uncontrollably. Tears streamed down her face.

“Guys! We’re under attack. Hurry. Get in your Gundams!”

“STOP!” Mineko screeched as she held her head. She wanted it all to stop. She needed it all to stop. She couldn’t take it any more. “Stop it all right now! Please! I can’t take it.” Why was He doing this? Why wouldn’t God leave her alone? He must have hated her. She needed to go to church and find out what was wrong with her. But not now. She was too weak. “Just stop.” Mineko’s tears and sobs subsided to a minimum, and she could hear her blood coursing through her veins.
