“Father. I am troubled.” Mineko walked up to the Sermon after he was done preaching. She looked up to him. She felt so much shorter than she really was. She felt so helpless and so alone.

“Of coarse you are my child. We all are at some time. But the Children of the Lord should not be troubled. Come.” The Father stopped for a moment, his voice soft and reassuring. “Let us talk.”

The Father took Mineko and they walked down a long hall.

“What is troubling you?”

“Well.” Mineko began. She didn’t know exactly where to start. She just decided the words would come. “The war is over.” She finally said. It wasn’t the best thing, but it was a start. The Sermon didn’t say anything yet. “And I have nothing left to live for.”

“I was a soldier in the war…” Mineko stopped there.

“At this young age?” The Father looked a bit surprised.

“Younger. I was fourteen. But I was fighting for the better cause!” Mineko declared proudly. “I was fighting for the peace and freedom of the Colony’s from Treize’s rule.” Mineko stopped again. Trying to think. “I was trying to get the Colony’s and Earth to come to an understanding and co-exist. And now…that that has..been accomplished. And now that Miss Marimeia, or rather Dakim has been taken care of, and the Earth Sphere Unified Nation has been formed, I am at a loss. My friends…have gone. Home.” Mineko’s expression was saddened.

“Well. I see. I am glad it is over, and you should be too. But why don’t you go home too? Or are there un-resting souls you need to set at peace before you can?”

“No, no. It’s nothing like that. Not at all.” Mineko and the Father where now sitting on a pew on the side of a wall. It was fairly dark, with a golden light. The walls where painted in a old gold kind of color, and had maroon wallpaper on the top portion of the walls.

“I have no home.” Mineko leaned forward a bit with her legs spread out a bit. She put on elbow on one knee and propped her head in her open palm, and rested her other elbow and forearm on her other knee. “I am not from this Earth. I am not from here. And I have nothing here.”

“I see. Well. I can offer you a Bible and some advice. But I cannot help you find a home. You need to find that out on your own. Just remember. God is with you my child. God is always there. God is Love. And God will never leave your side. No matter how hard it is.” The Sermon got up and walked off. He left a Bible and a cross, just like Duo’s on the pew in his spot. Before he left though, he kissed Mineko on the forehead and said a few more simple, but true words. “God bless this child. Your faithful servant.” And he left. Mineko sat for a while and thought of what to do when she got out of here.

She walked out of the church and into the crystal, bright noonday sunlight. She shielded her eyes with her hand for a second, and then finally got used to the bright light.

“Where to go?” Mineko asked herself quietly. She needed a place to stay. No. She vowed to herself she would never go back to one of the safe houses that had been occupied by herself and the Gundam Pilots. But she had no choice in the matter. No! She would not go. She could find some other place to stay at. But the safe house she was nearest to was still running. It had running water. And was all paid off so it had electricity for needed tools, like kitchen appliances. But she couldn’t. “I need to make up my mind.”

Mineko snapped out of her thoughts to notice she had dug her nails into her hands. Mineko was surprised she had done so. It stung, but it was nothing to significant. But at the present state she was in, anything she did hurt.

Mineko walked to the nearest park and sat down on a bench. She paid absolutely no attention to anything that went on around her. She would normally take walks to parks to watch children play and have fun. And dream of her and Wufei together watching they’re own child play. But not this time. Wufei was not with her, nor would he ever be.

Sure. You might think, “Why didn’t she just go visit the others?” Well, fore one. She didn’t know where they all where. She didn’t know which airport Heero was at, and she didn’t know where the Preventers were located. There was no way in Hell she was going to visit Relena. Even if she did know where she was. The Winner Estate was moved to another portion of Colony L4, and she had no clue where on Colony L5 Wufei was, or if Sally was even with him. She didn’t even know where on Earth she was. She would go visit Trowa, but his circus moved around a lot, and she didn’t know what Colony he was on either. So I guess that pretty much settles that.

Mineko sat on the bench and took her jacket off as carefully as she could, without further injuring her hands. She tore off a few strips of her shirt and tied them to her hands. She then put her jacket on. She reached into her pockets and found a twenty. She pulled it out and looked at it. She then put it back in her pocket, flinching at the pain in her hand. She got up and started walking down the road again.

She figured she had to eat, but what? What was she in the mood for? She thought that if she was going to eat something, it had to be something she wanted and not something she was going to have to force herself to eat.

She walked by several stores and shops. “Um, no. I’m not in the mood for sushi, yuck.” She kept walking with her hands shoved into the pockets of her jacket. “No. Not pizza.” She stopped for a while. “And there aren’t any steak houses around.” She continued on her walk, not knowing where she was going. There was a little family restaurant called Carmelita’s, but she wasn’t in the mood for Mexican. She also passed by a China Star. But she didn’t want Chinese. Thinking about Chinese anything only hurt her more. She finally ran across a little bar. The name of, she didn’t really care. She just needed to eat.

She walked in and all heads turned to the door. Everyone in the bar knew everyone else and their brother, and the sound of the door opening was familiar to each person. Everyone had a different strength when they opened the doors. They where old time western doors. So all in all, needless to say, Mineko was a loner.

What met the eyes of the people in the bar was not what they had expected. A sixteen year old, blue haired, blue eyed girl with a black leather jacket on and a red shirt, and a pair of once skin-tight jeans that where now pretty baggy. And then to top it off. Old, brown leather boots, the shoe lasses where all torn at the ends and mud stained.

Mineko ignored the on looking and sat at the bar. “How much would a plate of chicken wings be?”

“A small has about seven and a large has about fourteen.” The bar tender said as he walked up to Mineko. “Aren’t you a little young to be here?”

“No.” Mineko snapped back.

“Um…” The bar tender was a bit speechless. His first guess was a slight case of PMS. Who would have guessed she was a heartbroken, homeless soldier fresh from the war.

“I’ll take a small. How much?” Mineko glared at the bar tender.

“That’ll be about six bucks.”

Mineko reached into her pocket flinching at the wound on her hand. She slid the twenty on the counter in front of her, keeping her fingers on it tightly until the bartender got it. He noticed the red bandages on her hand.

“What happened?” He said looking at them as he put the money away got her change.

“I guess you could say I was holding the wrong end of the sword this time.” Mineko’s voice was distant, and she was looking around the bar. Many of the eyes had gone back to what they where doing. But somewhere still glued to her. Mineko noticed and older middle-aged man looking at her with the, ‘Ah. Fresh meet’ look and she glared at him and flipped him off.

“Here you go.” Mineko turned to her plate and got her change from the bartender.

Mineko ate a few chicken wings and the bartender interrupted her.

“You look a little on the shity side.”

“I am.” Mineko wiped her mouth and sat back on her stool. Mineko went to take a drink of the water the bar tender had given her free, when she started getting a bit dizzy. She sounded like Relena did when the people she was talking to at Colony X18999- before she got kidnapped-gave her a dose of Sleep Tea. “I..uh…haven’t gotten much sleep…lately. I, I can’t-“ She stopped herself short. “I don’t have anywhere..to ,uh, live.” Mineko set her cup down and bent over the side of her stool. She held her mouth and stomach, then threw up.

“Are you alright Miss?” The bartender asked, as he looked shocked at Mineko. Mineko didn’t reply with words though. The only reply anyone got from Mineko was a thud. Mineko fell out of her chair headfirst. Her wounds had reopened and a darker red stained the red bandages that used to be part of her shirt. Mineko fell unconscious.

“Someone call 911!” The bartender shouted as he and several other men in the bar helped Mineko up and set her in a booth.
