“Locked on target.” A dark haired, Prussian eyed young boy, about fifteen, said as he had his enemy locked in his line of vision. Without second thought and without warning, he fired at the spacecraft in front of him. With that, his mission was successfully completed. “Ninmu kanryou.” He stated just as blandly as he had, “locked on target”. “Roger that.” Another voice came across his intercom system. It was hazed by static, but the boy knew very well what was spoken, and who spoke it. It was a young boy, the same age as him with a waste long, chestnut braid and violet eyes. He had an irresistible grin that no one, except for the Prussian eyed young man, could resist. It helped him through life. His name was Duo, and his more than nonchalant friend’s name, was Heero. “Lets go home.” A third voice, that belonged to a bright blue eyed Arabian boy with short white-yellowish hair and pale skin, cracked over the communication device just before a light flickered off in the other two giant machines they where in called, Gundams. The light is an indicator that tells the others that his comm. path is either on, or off. Now it is off, and Gundams are giant machines, or Mobile Suits, in which are humanoid machines piloted by one person, and usually only have enough room in the cockpit for one, and are used for battling only. These special Mobile Suits are made of a certain, one of a kind, metal called Gundanium Alloy. “Right.” The fourth voice belonged to a dark haired, emerald green eyed; tallboy with a curtain of bangs that jetted out of his hairline, and covered one green eye. He, like Heero, was one of the quietist members of the team. And the last acknowledgement was by the last member of the group. A solitary Chinese boy with short pulled back jet-black hair, and the same pools of black, which some people like to called ‘eyes’. He only turned his link off, not wishing to say anything. They all headed off back to Earth to the safe house they were staying in, only to be greeted by a bright red flash. A cannon of some sort, made by another Mobile Suit, or so they thought. It riped open a bit if space and revealed a light colored park with Sakura-ki’s and green grass. The sky was a crystal blue, and to the boy’s astonishment, a lady, with long, white flowing hair was inside the portal like hole created by the strange blast. Her hair seemed to be pulled up in two buns on the top of her head, shaped like little round circle. She was wearing a white and gold trimmed, flowing dress with beautiful white angel wings. “What the!” Duo shouted out as he stared in awe at the scene in front of him. Frightened and yet amazed at this strange site before his eyes. She closed his eyes and rubbed them to be sure he was not hit by the blast instead of the black velvet blanket of stars before him and his friends. “I…uh…who are you!?” The blond haired boy, Quatre shouted out also a little taken by surprise by this new visitor. “I am Queen Serenity. I have come from the Moon Kingdom. I wish to speak with you and ask for a favor. I am in search of strong solders, warriors who are wiling to help save the Earth here in my universe. Are you willing to help?” Heero thought long and hard. That would mean, they have to leave there world and who knew what would happen. ‘But, it is my job to protect those around me. She certainly does qualify. But, I don’t trust her.’ “I don’t trust you.” ‘Aw shit. I hope Heero didn’t mean to say that allowed.’ Duo fidgeted in his seat and tried not to panic. “I understand completely. Why would you? After all…I did just come out of nowhere. But you see, my five Sailor Senshi, here, they are about to fight an evil much greater than that of any they have fought before. And the Outer Senshi will not help them. Please. I need your help. My daughter, Usagi, and her future daughter, Chibi-Usa, will need all the help they can. They have a new ally, but she might not have what it takes. She has had no training that I know of and even if ‘she’ is not, I am afraid for her safety. Please think about it. My darling Usagi is the Neo Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom.” Queen Serenity shut up long enough to get an answer from the Gundam Pilots. “How long will this take? What is the Sailor Senshi, and why us?” Queen Serenity felt that she was getting close to having them say ‘yes’, so she calmed down and continued. “There are three groups of Sailor Senshi. Sailor Senshi are the guardian protectors of their respected planets. Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Moon are the Sailor Solders of the inner planets. They fight with the future King of the Moon Kingdom, Tuxedo Kamen. The outer are Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. They will not help the inner Senshi for reasons they wish to keep to themselves. They are the two main groups at the present time. Their job is to protect the Ginzuishou from evil powers such as the one heading toward the Earth. It’s a magical crystal that holds an immense amount of power…” “… And ff it falls into the wrong hands, it will destroy the world.” Queen Serenity was interrupted by Quatre as he finished off her, and tried to stop her chance of any further explanations, but failed to do so. “Yes. Now, the last group of Senshi is the Sailor Starlights. Sailor Star Maker, Sailor Star Healer, and Sailor Star Fighter. They have not yet come to the knowledge of the solar Senshi yet, and they should not be around in this crisis, so you have nothing to worry about. Right now, they are just stars. Nothing more than stars in space. I do not know how long this will take, but the more we talk, the closer the evil is toEarth.” “So, you want us, why?” Duo questions suspiciously. Queen Serenity seems to loose the hope of a ‘yes’ from these boys. “This is the first world I could find with anyone in space that isn’t evil. I can sense things you know. Besides, you look like solders to me.” “That’s right.” “WOW! Trowa said something! It’s amazing.” Duo shouted as the green-eyed boy spoke for the second time this whole time. Wufei, the Chinese boy, remained silent. Queen Serenity was surprised by this sudden outburst. “I’m sorry for my friend, he’s a bit hyper. Go on.” “A bit?” Heero mumbled to himself. “Like I was saying. The only other worlds I have been to, the only people I met up with were evil. You are not, are you?” “Depends on how you see us? ‘Death smiles at us all, but all you can do is smile back (it’s from the movie Gladiator. They do not know who right they are).” Duo says grinning. “Well, I think that’s a good thing to hear. Um…” Queen Serenity, unsurely, went on. “Please say yes. The fate of this universe is at your hands. Mirai no Tameni. Well, my future anyway.” “Keeping into mind, that we are running out of time. You said there is another Senshi, who are they?” “She is a tough girl, but has had no training in the line of fighting the evil’s of our universe, or using her kenshin or powers. She seems to be the protectors of Dragons, but I am unsure if she has a certain planet she protects somewhere that is unknown to us at the present time. She is very cold hearted and I fear she can be used against the inner Senshi, as well as the outers. She is not very, cooperative and has gotten into fights with the other Senshi on more than one account. She has been turned against them once I do believe. By the Dark Moon.” “So, in other words…” Duo started to get things strait but took a little too long. “She can’t be trusted.” Heero finished, but his tone of voice sounded more as a question than a statement. “Right. I wish she could. But…” Queen Serenity paused trying to think of what she was going to say without being rude. “Well, she’s a good kid, but she’s not from our universe and I am afraid of what she might be capable of doing. She…” Queen Serenity slowed down and got a bit hesitant. “She’s not human.” The boys seem to remain a little calm, but still don’t like the idea of working with an alien. Queen Serenity goes on.“She’s what’s called a Saiya-jin warrior.” “Well.” Quatre says thinking a bit. “It seems you really need help here, and I don’t like to be rude…what do you guys think? I mean, we’re suppose to protect those around us, but…” “This means leaving this universe and who knows what Treize will do.” Heero finishes Quatre thought as if he where inside his head. “Heero has a point there.” Duo jumps into the decision if they are going to stay or go. “We might as well. We can’t lave Queen Serenity to hang here like this.” “We’ll go.” Trowa finally gets out what the others are trying to say and ends the conversation. And with that said, not even acknowledging that Wufei is there, they leave. Their Gundams disappear into little particles and they’re left hanging in space. They, somehow, can still breath perfectly, and now have wings. “That’s odd.” Queen Serenity says taking in the fact that Duo has black wings. And the only way to tell he has wings is that a bit of stars are cut out around Duo, in the shape of angel wings. “I do not believe I have ever seen someone with black wings.” Queen Serenity tilts her head to the side and has a worried look on her face. “It’s not all that surprising.” Duo says looking over his wings best he can without straining his neck to far back. “I am the Shinigami after all.” “Oh…” Queen Serenity gasps at this information.“You’re…the God of Death? How, how can that be?” “I was just born this way, I guess. It’s in my blood.” “Well, we better go see Sailor Pluto at the Time Gate.” The boys leave and go through the portal, which closes behind them. About half way there, Quatre asks Queen Serenity a question that hadn’t entered the other boys minds. “Um…didn’t you say that Sailor Pluto was a outer Senshi?” “Yes, but she is also the Guardian of Time. But, soon, I fear her time will be up. She will soon do something that will cost her being the guarding of time, but I’d rather not talk about. She is very lonely, but still full of spirit.” “I feel sorry for her.” Duo said looking around the vast space of the giant pillars and mist floating in an unroofed, yet closed-in dimension of space and time. It sounded jumbled and wasn’t thought out thoroughly, even to him, but he couldn’t think of any other description. “This place is so big. And it’s hard to breath.” Quatre says getting and little closer to Trowa. The only one he really feels safe beside. “It is, I know. But the children of the moon are used to it. Not many outsiders come here, in fact, none that I can really recall. So we tend to forget how different it is to people like you.” Queen Serenity looks back at the boys and sees Trowa and Quatre holding hands. Trowa is staring off into space, and Quatre is looking around frantically like a creature is going to jump out of the mist below him and bite him on the ass. “The little one is afraid?” She asks, not really noticing that she asked the question so bluntly. “Aa.” Quatre says a little uneasy. He was very surprised that ‘he’ had been the one called ‘little one’. Usually it was Duo who was referred to as little one. “Is he like a brother, or a lover?” Queen Serenity keeps her eyes on the path before her, but keeps her mind partially on keeping the boys and herself together until they reached the gate. “Trowa-san?” Quatre asks and looks up at Trowa, then back at Queen Serenity and immediately replies. “Watashi no koibito.” “Are we there yet? OW!” Duo rubs his head and looks at Heero. “What did you do that for?” “Don’t start that.” Heero says coldly. “And him?” Queen Serenity asks the same as she asks Quatre. “Hee-chan? Hee-koi.” Duo says happily not caring what Queen Serenity thought of him. He was a good boy. God of Death or not, and he doesn’t think he is really yaoi, but he has a strange obsession toward Heero. Like he is a personal hero, or a model. “What about you?” They all look at Wufei who is off to the left and back a ways from the group. “….” Wufei doesn’t say anything. Nor has he for the last couple hours of this whole thing. “His wife died a year ago. They were only fourteen. He hasn’t spoken much since I met him. He’s cool though!” Duo says pointing to Wufei in the corner. Wufei remains silent and only takes his eyes off his surroundings for a second. Wufei is lost in his own thoughts about this whole deal when they finally reach a giant gray bluish door with all kinds of moons on it. Quarter moons, and full moons, all kinds of symbols in squares. “Well, here I leave you. I must go back to where I came from. In the land beyond this one.” “You’re dead?!” Quatre asks a bit shocked. “Sadly, yes.” Queen Serenity hangs her head. “I have been for years, but now you must go. You will know them when you see them. I bid you farewell.” Queen Serenity disappears into a fog of white and pink sparkles. “Who goes there? Trespasser!” A female voice echo’s in the room around the boys and seems to bounce of the gray fog. “We where sent here by Queen Serenity!” Heero calls back calmly. “Queen Serenity? But she’s dead!” Just after that was said, Duo finds himself sidestepping a long, gray staff like object. The top has a heart shaped open space with a red ball in the middle that shines in the dim light of their surroundings. “Yeah, we just found that out.” Duo says backing up. The wand disappears and in its place was a woman, about 17 or so in a short, black mini skirt and knee high black boots with white strips at the top of them. She has long flowing greenish hair tied up in a bun on the top of her head, and a tiara with a maroon jewel in the center. The top of her suit looked like a sailor’s suit. ‘I guess that’s why they call them ‘Sailor’ Senshi.’ Duo thinks to himself. The staff she is holding is more like a key, and she has a ring of keys around her waist. Her suit has no sleeves, and her gloves are about elbow high and have three rubber-like, black rings round the tops. Her eyes where a maroon color and the jewel on the black bow on the front of her suit, matched her eyes almost to perfection. “She’s pretty.” Duo said as he stared in awe. “What are you doing here?! Trespasser!” “Let them pass.” A female voice echoed through the hall. It seemed to vibrate right off the mist they where in. The could feel her voice vibrate against their body’s, as if someone had their music up a little too high while driving through a quiet neighborhood. “Huh?” Sailor Pluto looked up and around her, almost surprised…almost. The red charm on her black necklace bounced a bit as she looked around. “Queen Serenity?” “Let them pass.” The voice said calmly again. “Naw, who did you think it was? The Easter Bunny?” Duo said sarcastically, and met Heero’s fist. “I am sorry my queen.” Sailor Pluto knelt down on one knee and set her staff beside her. She owed her head and a ghost form of Queen Serenity appeared before them. “It is alright my child. Let them pass or our world as we know will be doomed.” “Yes, my queen.” Sailor Pluto took her staff and arose. The form of Queen Serenity disappeared and Pluto turned. “I am sorry. I did not know.” Pluto paused, but before Duo or the others where able to say a word, Pluto began again. “Fallow me.:” She commanded. Her voice calm and strong. The others didn’t object to fallowing Pluto. Once at the gate, Pluto waved he staff around a bit, and the door slowly, but quietly opened. “Go. The gate will not stay open long.” Pluto pointed her wand to the opened door. The boys walked up to it, a bit unsure what would happen next. “Go.” The boys went through the door, and it slowly closed behind them once again. “Usagi-chan!! You’re gonna be late for school! Get up!” Luna called to her friend Usagi to wake up, but Usagi threw her school uniform on and ran down the stairs, practically leaving a trail of smoke behind her. “Don’t forget your breakfast.” Mrs. Tsukino smiled as Usagi ran down the stairs. Her little brother, Tsukino Shingo, held out a piece of toast as his sister ran down the stairs. Usagi grabbed the toast and shoved it in her mouth. She then stepped down the two stairs that led down to her front door, and slipped her shoes on before she grabbed her bag and ran out the door. As Usagi ran down the street, she ran into her friend Aino Minako. “You too?” Usagi asked as they both got up and grabbed their bags as they ran to school. “Yeah. Artemis was late getting me out of bed.” Minako replied as she ran a steady pace and kept up with Usagi. “Yeah. Luna too. And she scratched my face, too!” Usagi exclaimed as they ran down the road. “Artemis is always making me late.” Minako said, but in fact, it was she was made herself late for school. Artemis was the guardian of Sailor V, or as we know her, Sailor Venus. He is like Luna, but white and has blue eyes. He has the same crescent moon imprinted on his forehead, but can be a few French fires short of a happy meal sometimes. As was Minako, and even Usagi. Minako and Usagi kept running down the street and finally reached there destinations. “But!” “No buts Ms. Tsukino!” “Not again!” Usagi grumbled and sat in her seat as her class stared at her. She had just received detention, ‘again’, for being late, ‘again’. “These are your test scores from you most recent test. Usagi…I-I…oh, never mind. Here.” Ms. Haruna handed back Usagi’s test, which of coarse bore the cursed ‘F’ that seems to appear on every one of Usagi’s, test-err-papers. “Aw, cheer up Usagi-chan.” Usagi’s friend Naru said as she stood beside Usagi. “Didn’t you study?” “No. I was to busy playing that new Sailor V video game at the Game Crown.” “Aw, don’t worry. I’m sure your mom will understand.” Usagi sunk down in her seat and stared at the ceiling for a while. “So how did you do on your test, Usagi-chan?” Usagi’s friend Mizuno Ami asked as she wlaked up to Usagi. “Oooohh. My mom’s gonna kill me.” “Oh, I thought you where studying for that test.” “No. I was playing that Neo Sailor V video game.”Usagi sulked on. By the end of the day, her back was almost permanently bent foreword. “Usagi!” Usagi’s head popped up as she heard a very familiar, but hated voice. “Oh no.” “Usagi!” Usagi’s, future, daughter popped around the corner as Usagi tripped on a rock. “Gah!!” “What’s the matter? Have a clutz attack again?” “No.” Chibi-Usa took off in the opposite direction. “Um…ok.” Usagi walked on. Then she was trampled by a few of Chibi-Usa’s friends. “GAH!” “Earth, Fire, Wind…” Usagi’s other friend, Hino Rei sat in front of her fire as she waved a staff. Her psychic powers telling her that something was coming, and evil force that had the power to destroy a hundred worlds. And another force, a good force, but she couldn’t get a clear view on either of them. “Hey Rei-chan? What are you doing?” Usagi asked as she came into the room in the Hikawa Shrine that Rei lived at. “I feel an evil force coming this way. I also feel a good force, but is not highly powerful. In fact, I sense no power at all. It seems to be just a normal as you or I. Minus the psychic ability.” “Oh…” Usagi sat down beside Rei. “Only…I can’t get a clear vision on either. The good force, it seems to be broken down into five individuals, but, they seem to have a completely different aura than any of use, of coarse, but some how it’s strange.” “Hey guys. What’s up?” Minako asked as she came in, fallowed by Ami and Kino Makoto. Along with them came Artemis and Luna. “Rei-chan says she’s getting reading, two actually.” “Oh, what are they, Rei-chan?” Ami asked as she sat down on the other side of Rei. Rei stood up and brushed her Miko robe off. “I can’t tell. One good, one bad. That’s all I know.” “I think this is a job for the Sailor Senshi to look into. The first sign of trouble, we’ll all meet at the bottom of the Shrine stairs.” Luna said before everyone headed out the door. “What about Michi?” Usagi asked as she looked hopefully at everyone. Hon Michi was the Earth name of Sailor Dragon. But she never really hung out with the rest of the Senshi; she was sort of an outcast. And they thought she would fit in better with the Outer Senshi. “If she senses anything, than she will know where to find us.” Artemis said. “Besides, I don’t think she even knows we exist. She kind of stuck up.” “I don’t think she’s stuck up at all. I think she’s just had a bad past, that’s all.” “And this coming from Usagi.” Artemis said as he went up to the girls. “I think it’s good she’s actually using her head, for once.” Ami said as she stood up from her spot on the floor. “Yeah, that’s a first.” Rei commented as she stepped up next to Usagi. “Hey, Rei-chan!” Usagi exclaimed. She pulled down her eye and stuck out her tongue at Rei. Rei did the same and soon there were sparks of lightening between the bickering duo. “Hi guys.” Rei and Usagi stopped pulling each other’s hair when a new voice entered the room. They turned to see Hon Michi. Their new friend, “Sailor Dragon”. “Oh, hi Michi-chan.” Ami said. She was the first to say something since she knew the others wouldn’t have been so kind. “Konnichi wa Ami-chan.” “Genki desu ka?” Makoto asked. “Hai, genki desu.” Michi looked at everyone as if she knew they didn’t quite want her to be in their presents. “Hey! You want to go to the Game Crown?” Minako asked. “Gomen. I can’t. I just wanted to tell you guys I think I’m gonna consider working with you. Besides…” Michi paused and put up her hands. “I don’t have any money. Remember, no parents, no money.” “You’re more than welcome to stay at the Hikawa Shrine you know, Michi-chan.” Rei said, trying to act as nice as she could. “That’s ok. I’ll be on my way now.” Michi bowed and left. She got her shoes at the door and stepped out into the bright sunshine. It was very bright, and she didn’t have and sunglasses to use. She used her arm to shield the light from her indigo eyes. She walked down the steps to the street. Michi stopped at the bus stop and waited for a bus to take here wherever, just as long as no one saw her. She didn’t like the vibes she was getting. Good and Evil, Evil stronger than Good, Good less in number, Evil greater in number. She didn’t bother to tell the others because she was pretty sure Rei had already told them and that was what they where talking, ano, fighting about before she came over. Michi waited at the stop, but the bus did not come, instead, she found Haruka and Michiru driving by. “Hey Mi-chan!” “Konnichi wa Haruka-san.” Michi bowed her head to Haruka. “Michiru-san.” Then to Michiru. “Going any where?” “Not particularly.” “Hop in.” “Ok.” On the drive, Haruka looked in her review mirror and saw Michi’s head half hanging in, half hanging out the window. He had a sorrowful expression on her face. Haruka nudged Michiru slightly, and she looked at Haruka. Haruka motioned for Michiru too look at Michi. “She looks so sad. It’s hard to believe she’s a Sailor Solder. She seems so out of place here.” Michiru said quietly. “Hai.” Haruka agreed, keeping her eyes on the road. Michi’s face shown in the sunset over the water under the bridge they where traveling on. “You got anywhere you want us to drop you off?” “Huh?” Michi was a bit startled to be broken out of her thoughts so suddenly. She forgot what she was thinking about immediately. “Um, no…not really.” “Why don’t you come and spend the night at our house?” Michiru suggested. “Yeah. Sounds good. I can make some popcorn and we can watch a movie.” Haruka encouraged Michi to come stay for a while. She didn’t really like the thought of Michi sleeping in some park again. But she wasn’t to fond of the girl either. “Um…well. It couldn’t hurt.” “So what’s wrong?” “Oh. I don’t think the others like me very well. I don’t know about Usagi though, she seems, nice, I guess.” “Ondango otama? She’s an okay kid. But she doesn’t know when to give up and leave something alone. It’s gonna be her downfall one day.” “Yeah. I hope not. She’s all humanity’s hope these days.” “Yeah. I never thought of it that way. In a way, it makes perfect sense…” There was a moment of silence between Michi and Haruka’s conversation. “That’s what scares me.” She finished. The rest of the ride to Haruka and Michiru’s apartment was quiet. The only sounds that were heard was the sound of Michi’s school uniform shoulder flaps beating against her shoulders, then raising again in the wind rapidly, and the light blow of the breeze in Michiru’s hair. When they got there, Michi didn’t quite know what to do with herself. She kind of stood there like a door holder (one of my nicknames is the Human Door Holder). “Why don’t you sit down and watch TV. We can go swimming in a little if you want. But first I want to take a nap.” Haruka said. She wasn’t very good at being nice, so it was hard. “I don’t have a bathing suit.” “You can use one of my old ones.” Michiru offered. “Oh, thank you.” ‘I think’. Michi walked over to the couch and sat. She found the remote and turned on the TV. The only things on where cartoons, and she wasn’t in the mood to watch cartoons. Michi turned the TV off and got up. She looked out at the streets below, full of life and people. Something she wished she could be. A human. I wonder what it would be like to be a human. Michi thought to herself. “The waters are changing again. But this time…I’m not sure for what.” “Better or worst.” Michi tried her luck with what Michiru was thinking. “I hope better.” Michiru sat on the window ceil, her back facing the streets. “Don’t we all?” Michiru got up and walked to her and Haruka’s room. But stopped in the hall. “Make yourself comfortable.” Then Michiru disappeared. “Alone again.” Michi sighed. She went to the fridge and got some milk. She sighed again as she sat at the kitchen table. A small, two seated round oak table. And very well polished. Michi sat for a long while, holding her cup of milk, staring into the table at her reflection. She thought about a few things. Mainly what her future might be like. What will my future be like? Will I ever go home, will I die fighting this new evil? Will I ever get married and have children. I’ve never even gone out. That’s ridiculous. I’llMichi cursed herself mentally arguing with a half of her that felt a pain for what her future might and might not bring. The half arguing with it, told her she was just a warrior, who was probably going to die soon anyway. Michi whipped her self from her thoughts and drank her milk, not wanting her conversation to go any further. She checked the clock and it was 5:00! She had been sitting a cursing to herself while having little mid wars with her other half for an hour. But it only seemed to be only two minutes. “You want to go swimming now?” Michi heard Michiru asked as she came out of the hall in which she had disappeared into earlier. “Yeah. That sounds nice.” Michi arose from her seat and put her cup in the sink. When she turned around, Michiru held out a bathing suit for her. It was a black bathing suit that went up to attach itself around the neck as if it where part of necklace. Michi entered the one bathroom of the small apartment room and tried it on. When she emerged, she found Haruka and Michiru already in their bathing suits. When they arrived at the beach, Michi really didn’t want to get sandy. She didn’t much like the sand. The water, she wasn’t to fond of that, either. But she came for the soul purpose of taking a walk by herself and thinking some more. And she did just that. While Michi was walking down the beach, it was close to sun set and she was begging to feel the last of the warm rays of the sun before the moon and stars came to shine in all their glory, on a black velvet sheet like little diamonds. Her mind wandered again. She pictured herself with a young handsome man about her age, walking on the beach and laughing and talking and making plans of what they would name their baby. Michi stopped to admire her fantasy more closely, as two wrestles little boys, about six or seven came running by her, their mother calling after them. Michi quickly grabbed them, laughing a bit as their mother came up to them. “Thank you. I’ve been trying to catch them for at least an hour. Come on you two. It’s time to go home. What movie do want to see tonight? “The Lion King!!” “No! I wanna see Power Rangers.” “Yuck!! I wanna see The Lion King!!” “We’ll see both.” The mother said, slightly laughing, and then they faded out of hearing. Michi watched as they left. The mother was not mad at her two boys for running from her, instead she was reasonable and kind. That was the kind of mother Michi told herself she would be one day, if she ever had a child of her own. She returned her gaze to her fantasy once more, and it faded out. She then headed back to where Haruka andMichiru would be waiting for her. She hopped. “What took you so long?” Haruka asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice. “Thinking.” Michi figured it wasn’t of too much importance to tell them that she helped that mother with her sons. “Well let’s go. I’m starved.” Michiru said as Michi fallowed her and Haruka to their car. Michi was tired. Tired from thinking so much, and tried from walking on the beach. Michi fell asleep in the car. When Haruka and Michiru got to their apartment, they where sort of unsure wither to wake the sleeping girl in their back seat. Just as Haruka was about to speak,Mamoru and Usagi walked by. “Oh. Konban wa Haruka-san, Michiru-san.” Usagi said bowing her head. Mamoru did the same, but remained silent. “What are you doing?” “Trying to figure out how to get Mi-chan in the house without waking her.” Haruka said a bit puzzled. Michiru opened the door and showed Usagi and Mamoru the sleeping form that had inhabited their back seat. Michi moved only slightly and rubbed her nose, before whispering something that was too incoherent to tell. “I’ll get her.” “Careful.” Usagi said to Mamoru as he carefully reached into the car and pulled out Michi. She didn’t stir. But smiled and whispered something again. They made it up to the apartment without waking her and got her on the couch. “Thank you.” “No problem.” When Michi woke in he morning, it wasn’t how she expected to wake up. The sound of sirens went off outside the apartment and startled her. But she pretty much ignored them and stretched a bit, then tried to go back t sleep. “Hey! What’s going on?!” Duo called as all the others, minus Heero, raced to where a crowd had gathered in the street outside an apartment complex. They remained out of scene for a while, instinct of being home kicking in. “Some kid just got hit trying to save puppy from getting hit.” One guy said. “Remarkable kid, too. Huh?” The man turned and couldn’t find anyone. “Heero.” Quatre said calmly. It was no surprise, after what had happened in his past. That little girl and her dog. It’s a perfect mach to this. They just couldn’t understand how Heero got away from them without them knowing. Sometimes, he was just too fast. When they got to the scene, Heero was standing on the other side of the road, frozen almost. He was half on and half off the road and sidewalk. He had the puppy clutched in his arms while having his left foot firmly planted on the sidewalk and his right foot heel up on the road. He seemed to have been standing a distance away from the car that was parked with a stunned driver. He was bleeding pretty badly as if he had gotten up from being hit. “What happened Heero?” Duo asked as he and the others walked up to Heero, ignoring the people around them. Heero remained silent. He then moved onto the sidewalk. He went over to a little girl and tried to hand her puppy to her, but the puppy’s teeth where firmly planted in his arm. “Misty!” The little girl said yelled. The puppy lifted its head, and jumped out of Heero’s arms into the little girl’s. “Don’t worry, she doesn’t have rabies.” The little girl said petting her dog. “Do you need us to give you a ride to the hospital?” “No.” Heero said coldly and quietly. Heero then walked off and the others fallowed. “You have to remember, we’re not at home.” Trowa said. “People won’t understand that you can take pain so well, here.” “Trowa’s right. You should go to the hospital.” “….” Heero gave no reply to neither Trowa nor Quatre’s pleas. “Oh well, let’s get that washed up and find a place to stay. We’ve been walking around aimlessly for the past day or so, and night.” Duo commented. They found an ally to sit in a talk, and for Heero to tend to his wounds before to many more questions arose than needed. Heero sat on the ground, back to a brick wall, while Duo sat on a window ceil of an old abandoned apartment room. It was luckily open, or was when Duo was done, so he made himself comfortable. “How about in there?” he asked. No one gave a reply, so he figured never mind. Quatre sat on Trowa’s lap who sat on a garbage can. Wufei was standing next to Heero with his arms crossed. Heero sat and tore his tank top to use as a bandage for his wounds. He just hopped the dog didn’t have rabies. “So what do you think we should do?” Quatre asked as he looked at everyone. Duo frowned. “We where hoping you knew.” “Nope.” Quatre closed his eyes and shook his head. “Heero?” “No.” “I have an idea?” “Ah!” Quatre squealed. He forgot he was sitting on Trowa. “Sorry.” “That’s ok. Go on.” “Why don’t we find some place to work at for a while, get some money, and rent an apartment, then find whom we’re supposed to find.” “That sounds great!” Quatre exclaimed. “But…” Heero started. They all looked at Heero. “Mm. ‘But’, what?” Quatre frowned. “But…they might not let us live in an apartment all by ourselves. And what kind of job would we find in a short time period that would pay good enough money to stay in an apartment.” “Heero has a point.” Wufei commented. “Where are we going to fined a job for us to work at? And where would we stay until we get enough money?” “Oh, um.” Quatre was stumped. “It was worth a try.” Trowa said raising a shoulder, then lowering it again. Quatre leaned back and Trowa put a arm around his shoulder. “Hmm.” Duo thought. “What if…” He paused, thinking of a way to explain his idea. “What if we each get separate jobs. That way, if we find something we’re good at…” “…We’ll get good pay. If we don’t do something we’re good at, we won’t get paid as much because we don’t know what we’re doing. It makes sense. What do you have in mind?” “Well. Quatre, you’re good at feminine stuff, like arranging flowers. Because you lived with 29 sisters and all.” Quatre didn’t want to argue with Duo. He din’t know hi sisters, but the braided baka still didn’t get that. “Ok. I think it might work. But…” “I’m getting to that. We will put our money together, then find place to live. Before that, we’ll find a place to work for each of us, see how much it pays and if we’ll be any good at it, then we’ll all meet up back here and find a place to stay for the night. Then we’ll go to work, and go back to the place we find.” “Duo. I think you actually have something.” Wufei said as he patted Duo on the back. “I try, I try.” Duo shrugged. They all got up and left the ally. About half way down the street. Trowa stopped Quatre by puling his arm. “What is it?” He asked, looking up at Trowa. Trowa pointed to something in the sky, floating above the buildings. “What is that?” Duo asked hearing there quiet three word conversation. “What?” Heero asked as he looked where the others where looking. Wufei joined in the stare fest. “It’s a circus.” Trowa said simply, walking toward it. “Well, there’s a job for Trowa.” Duo said. ‘Now to find one for himself’. He thought. “Hey!” “What?” Wufei asked curious to Duo’s sudden outburst. “A CD store. I can sell CD’s! I’m good at it. I like music.” “Fine. We’ll meet back wit you in the ally. And don’t steel anything. You wouldn’t have a player to play them in anyway.” Heero said firmly. Duo headed for the store, and Quatre, Trowa, Heero and Wufei headed for the circus. They had some luck along the way, too. “Hey, swords shop.” Quatre pointed out. He looked at Wufei and Wufei turned his gaze to a small antique swords shop. “You should work there, Wufei.” He added.Of coarse they all knew what he meant when he said ‘hey, a sword shop’, but he wasn’t really thinking. “I suppose it’s worth a try.” Wufei said, getting a bit of a gleam in his eye. Wufei was good with swords. The boys continued walking as Wufei headed off. “Heero?” “What?” Heero asked a bit annoyed with Quatre’s question. “What do you have in mind?” Quatre looked at Heero. He slowed a bit. “Weapons.” “Ok…” Quatre said a bit unsure. “I guess that suits you.” “No.” Heero pointed his finger to the side of them.“Weapons.” Heero smirked a bit, but stopped short. Quatre started to hide behind Trowa from the evil gleam in Heero’s eye. “Ok, just make sure they’ll let you in.” “Oh, they’ll let me in.” Heero walked off leaving that one last thought in Quatre and Trowa’s minds. Quatre and Trowa walked on. “Yeah, they’ll let him in. If they’re desperate enough.” Trowa smirked at his comment, he was glad Heero hadn’t heard it. “I’m sure.” Said Quatre, as they neared the giant floating tent. “How do you think it got up there?” he asked. “Lots of helium.” Trowa said. Quatre strained his neck back to look at the tent in all its glory. “Who are you? Do you have a ticket?” A rather tall man asked the two boys. Quatre suddenly felt like a mushroom on the floor of a rainforest. ‘Every thing here is so tall.’ He thought to himself. “I’m here to try out for the circus.” Trowa said coldly. “Ha, ha. Ok ‘clown boy’. You can go in. You?” The guy turned to Quatre after laughing. Quatre’s lip quivered. The guy raised an eyebrow. “Don’t call Trowa ‘clown boy’.” Quatre’s eyes started to well up with tears. Quatre was always emotional when people insulted his friends. Especially Trowa. He was the first friend Quatre ever had, next to his 29 sisters and the Maguanat Core. Trowa was his first real friend. And he was protective of him. “Listen kid, he is a clown, isn’t he?” Trowa turned to Quatre. “It’s ok. I’ll be ok.” Trowa hugged his friend and then walked up the ramp to the tent. “Ok!” Quatre said, suddenly a lot happier. Quatre bounced off. “Jeeze! What that kid have for breakfast?” The guy scratched his head. When Trowa got in the tent, the show was still on so he waited in the back before everyone left. When all the performers went back stage, he made his way down and jumped over the ramp at the bottom of the seats with one hand in his pocket. “You where great out there JunJun!” One girl called to another. It was a young girl with light pink hair and eyes. Her hair was in a bun on the top of her head, and it had to hoops coming out from the back, then two pig tail like things that fell to her sides. They had what looked like scorpion stingers on the ends. She was addressing a girl with hair like hers. But her hair was green and had what looked like a rope in her hair. She had three pig tails that stuck out on top of her head, bound in the rope thing, from there, they formed one of the scorpion tails on top of her head. And like the other girl, CereCere, JunJun had to pigtailed scorpion stingers. “You did good your self.” The third girl said. She had red eyes and red hair. Her hair went up in a ponytail on top of her head, but it had what looked like golden, bracelets with red jewels around it. At the end she had the stinger. “Hey,” BesuBesu, the read haired girl said noticing Trowa. “Who’s he?” She asked. “A new friend!” The fourth girl, a rather hyper active girl with blue hair and eyes shouted. She had short hair with four red and blue ropes tied in her hair. At the ends, she had blue balls instead of scorpion stingers. “Calm down, ParaPara.” BesuBesu said. “Who are you?” “Trowa Barton. If you must call me something, you can call me Nanashi or Doukeshi if you want. I’m here to try out for a part in the circus.” Trowa’s voice was low and calm. A chill ran down ParaPara’s spine. “Lets see what you’ve got.” They all walked out into the ring of the circus and Trowa climbed the tight walk. He showed them his best, without even trying. He did his famous triple axel spin thing that he does so often. He landed on the grace with grace. He stuck his hands in his pocket and started to walk on the rope. “Wow! He’s great!” JunJun exclaimed. “He’s cute!” ParaPara commented. “He’s on the team.” BesuBesu declared. “He’s ok.” The girls all stared at CereCere. “Watch this.” “Don’t hurt him!” BesuBesu called to CereCere who just threw a ball at Trowa. “Trowa!” Trowa turned to see a ball coming his way. When it was close enough, he kicked it back to CereCere without removing his hands from his pockets. He walked the rest of the wire and climbed down. “You’ve got a job.” BesuBesu said. “But first, what else can you do?” BesuBesu asked Trowa as he walked up to them. “My sister throws knives at me.” Trowa said calmly. “Cool! This way!” ParaPara grabbed Trowa’s arm and drug him to the circle thing where she would usually throw knives at. She tied him to the board and got the knives for JunJun. JunJun wanted to test him a bit more, so she threw the knives a little closer to his head than she normally would have. One almost it him in the ear, just as Cathrine had done the first night he tried out. “Oops.” She said a bit stunned. Trowa’s ear was only bleeding slightly. “Trowa!” BesuBesu called out. “Why didn’t you move!” They where al shocked that he hadn’t even blinked. “I didn’t need to.” He simply said. The Amazon Quartet where now officially scared of Trowa. Elsewhere, Wufei was hard at work helping out costumers. The owner of the small shop was a little old Chinese man. Wufei showed a great amount of respect to him. That was the only reason the man ever let Wufei in the shop. He was supervising how well Wufei worked, without giving him the slightest help. And Wufei was very confident in himself. “Excuse me. What’s the quality of this sword?” A man asked as he handed Wufei a katana. Wufei smirked. “This sword is called a katana. I have one of my won. The metal was folded five times and made of the newest stainless steel. So this is very new. The handle was hand crafted and painted with precise accuracy. Made in China of coarse.” “Wow. I’ll take it. I just have to put it in my collection.” The man paid for it and headed out the door with a carefully rapped katana. Duo, like Wufei, was having his share of work. In fact, he had his hands full. “Where do you want the shipment?” “Just set it over there.” “Hey, anyone here?!” A female voice called from inside the shop. Duo rushed inside to see a girl standing at the counter. “Can I help you with anything little lady? He asked and put on his most charming grin. The girl nearly fainted on the spot. Duo was always the one who had girls constantly hanging on him. “Um, yeah. How-how mush I this CD?” She asked, a bit at a lose for words. “15.” The girl paid for it. “Can I have your number?” The girl asked, eyes shining. “Sorry, I don’t live here. Just visiting.” The girl left disappointed. Duo just smiled and went back to his job in the back. Heero wasn’t having as much luck as Duo or Wufei, however. He was still trying to convince the shop owner to even let him step a foot in. “Listen kid! Don’t make me call the cops on you! I’m just trying to run a small business here, don’t you get that?” “Aa. And I’m just trying to get a job.” Heero said simply. “Besides.” Heero paused and crossed his arms, he then pointed to a sign. He had his eyes closed, but had been observant as he had approached the shop earlier. “The sign says help wanted.” He stated.” The man looked at the sing for a moment then pulled a permanent parker out of his pocket. He wrote on the sin, and said the words and he wrote them. “Must be 18 or older.” He said, looking back at Heero. “Come back in three years kid.” The man said turning back to his door, he walked in and left Heero out in the back. The man heard a click and turned around a bit afraid. “Omea o korosu.” Heero stated flatly. The man took astep back, frightened. “Wh-wher’ed you get that gun?” The man stuttered. “A gun dealer, where else? It’s a twenty-four caliber semi automatic handgun.” “I-I can see that. But, how?” “Where I come from, it’s a battle field. I am the Perfect Solder.” Heero simply stated. The man finally, fearful for his life, let Heero into the shop and let him look around and observe where everything is, then he led Heero down to the underground cellar where he let some of his customers test out their chosen weapon. When they reached the bottom of the stares, there where five cardboard cutout human figures hanging from the wall. Heero stepped up to them and examined them. He then stood back behind the shooting bar, and shot the five dummies’, all with precise accuracy, right in the heart. The man took a few steps back, one from the intensity of the noise, and the other for the remarkable aim the Heero had. “Wow.” The man finally said, once the smoke cleared from the small room. “You’ve got yourself a deal. Where did you learn to shoot like that?” He asked. “A friend.” Heero said grimly. Heero then lifted his gun back up and shot the third dummy, right in between the eyes. “Well, lets get back upstairs.” The man said. In another part of the city, Quatre was looking for a flower shop. “Now I know there should be a flower shop somewhere around here.” He said to himself as he walked down ally after ally. Quatre finally found a quiet little flower shop. When he walked in he was greeted by a girl about his age. “Can I help you?” “Um yes. I’m looking for work.” He said. “Well, you’ve come to the right place.” The girl said tilting her head and smiling. “First lets find something for you to wear.” The girl took Quatre’s arm and drug him to the back of the shop. Her black hair was up in a bun, and she was wearing a pretty, bright summer kimono. She took Quatre to a rack of kimonos, and shoved one in his face. It was a dark blue on with the moon and stars, and the sash was the color of a river. She then drug Quatre to another part of the shop, threw him into a bathroom, shut the door behind him and hollered. “Now if you need any help! Just call!” She yelled. Quatre, however, was left in the dark of the bathroom trying to figure out what the hell just happened and where the light switch was. When he finally got himself together, he exited the bathroom. “Um,” Quatre started to say and the girl turned around. “You look great! C’mon, lets get to work!” She smiled and grabbed Quatre again. She brought him to the front of the store and told him where everything was and whole bunch of things (she thought) he needed to know(but really didn’t). “Hello, may I help you?” Quatre asked to the first person that came into the store.” “Yes. What is your special today.” “Well, this isn’t a restaurant, but we’re serving lily’s and roses.” Quatre said smiling. “Might I suggest the chef’s finest? The half dozen roses for 25 dollars.” “Ok. I think I’ll take that. I have a big date tonight and I wanted roses for my girl friend. It’s my first date.”“Oh. Well than might I suggest adding some of our tulips. You can get two for 3 yen.” “Ok. I think she’ll like it.” The man boy bought his flowers and left. The girl smiled as he left, then turned to Quatre. “Good, I think you’ll do great here.” Later that night, the boys met back at the ally. “So have any luck at the CD store?” Quatre asked as Duo came bouncing over to the other boys. “YEAH!! And I’ll tell ya. The grills won’t leave me alone!” “I’m sure.” Heero said coldly. “So how much does your work pay?” Duo turned to Heero and stuck his tongue out for his first comment, then told him the answer to his question. “Well, it pays about 5.35 an hour. I think. It’s not much, I know.” Duo said frowning. “It’s a start, but it sucks. My job pays 7 an hour. And extra if I polish the guns every week and keep my age to at least 17. All this with the help of my threats, of coarse.” Heero said crossing his arms. “The manager at my work said that if I keep my own in the store, he’ll up my pay to 10 and hour. As of now, I make 9.50 an hour. He was pretty impressed with what I could do.” Wufei explained sitting on a garbage can. “I work at a little flower shop and the girl there is nice. She says I’ll make around 8 an hour. But I think she’s thinking of upping my pay too. I think she likes me. She owns the shop herself. And I even get to wear my own kimono!” Quatre said smiling. He walked over and sat on Trowa’s lap again. “So how much do you make Trowa?” Quatre asked looking up at Trowa. “100 An hour.” Trowa wasn’t for talking at the moment. But he never really was in the first place. “Woah!!! Duo starred at Trowa dumbfounded. “I guess my pay does suck.” “So does mine.” Quarter managed to squeeze out. “What are you doing again?” Wufei asked. “I’m working at the Dead Moon Circus.” “What a gloomy name for a circus, ne?” Duo commented as he looked over at Heero. Heero seemed un-phased about the whole ordeal. “That’s what I thought. But…I don’t mind.” “Oh, yeah right. I almost forgot. The Silencer.” Duo yawned. “I’m tierd, you guys?” “I’m hungry.” Quatre whined. “Yeah. Maybe we should go eat.” Heero thought. “But we don’t have any money.” Wufei interjected. “Oh, yeah. What should we do?” Duo asked as he looked over at Wufei. Wufei was about to open his mouth, but Heero beat him to it. “We should probably find a place to stay for the mean time, we’ll think of something in the morning.” “But…” Quatre tried to speak, but was cut off. “We all don’t get paid for a few weeks. What are we supposed to do before then?” Duo asked. Jumping from foot too foot. “Calm down. We’ll have to think of something.” Heero argued. There was a long silence that fallowed. No one said anything, no one moved. “Sing!” Duo finally shouted. Quatre jumped, Wufei snapped his head up, Trowa glared at him and Heero remained still, but let out a low growl of disappointment. “WE can sing. We’re good at it. We’ll use my cap t collect money. We can even get more money if we take requests.” “Actually. It doesn’t sound half bad, but I can’t sing. Duo, you can be the main singer. We’ll find a few things we can use as instruments. But I want my violin.” “We’ll think of something!” Duo hopped up and started rummaging around the alley. A few minutes later, Duo found that a trashcan was currently empty, and didn’t stink. So someone could use the lid as a drum. He then found a few sticks, too. Finally the others got up and looked around. Quatre found a few old bottles filled with water. He blew on the tops and they made deep whistling noises. “We could use these.” “Yeah, great idea Quatre.” “I’ve got it. Wufei, you drum, I’ll sing, Trowa, you use the bottles. Quatre, you can snap your fingers can’t you?” “Um…” Quatre tried, and after a few minutes, got the hang of it. “Good, you can whistle too. Heero, you can tap your foot and hum, if you want, you can sing too.” “Right.” All the boys came out of the ally and set things up. They started singing simple things, like Cry for the Dream, and Kitto OK as warm ups. Pretty soon, they had a little crowed and they where getting some change. The boys had so much fun that by the time they came back to reality, it was getting dark. They had completely forgot they where hungry, and they had lost of money. “Duo. You’re so cool. This was a great idea.” Quatre commented. “Thanks, I try. Now we should have enough to go and eat something at McDonalds or something.” “Right.” “Hey.” Wufei finally spoke up. “You think the landlord will let us stay in the apartment for a while. Even if we can’t pay full for now?” “He mite, it’s a good idea. We should find out. But for now. Let’s get some grub.” “You ready to get up?” Michi crawled slowly back to consciousness. The sound of a voice that was all to familiar. “Huh? Wha-?” “She said. “Are you ready to get up? It’s already noon.” Michi sat up on the couch she had fallen asleep on the previous night. Or no…she had woken up this morning, then went back to sleep. “Uh—yeah. I suppose so.” Michi yawned and rubbed her eyes. “We where going to go this morning for breakfast. But we didn’t want to wake you. You deserved the sleep.” Michiru said smiling. “For what?” Mineko said, eyes downcast. She sat up on the couch and looked at her lap. Michiru and Haruka looked at her in surprised. Her voice couldn’t have belong to the girl they had taken home last night. “I haven’t done anything but intrude on your privacy. I’ve caused the others nothing but problems, and I’m just taking up space.” “That’s not true. C’mon. Why don’t’ we go out and get something for lunch. I’m sure you’re hungry. I think there’s a great restaurant down the street. They’re serving torinuku teriyaki.” “Yay.” “Hey. C’mon. You’re not gonna go very far with an attitude like that. But hey, you guys go ahead. I’ll meet up with you later. I’m gonna go to the shop and check up on my car.” Haruka grabbed a coat and walked out the front door, leaving Michiru and Michi to go about their business,
