January 6 & 7, 2005 WUSC UVic refugee camp simulation in front of the McPherson Library at UVic. Our aim is to raise awareness of refugee issues while campaigning for funding to allow WUSC to sponsor a refugee student every year at UVic. Live it for one day. Could you?

January 21, 2005 Rock for Rwanda at Steamers! Come groove to Arny of Sheep, Seven Year Old Poets and Yclept and help WUSC UVic reconstruct a medical centre in Rwanda that will care for over 30,000 people in the area. Doors open at 9:00, show starts at 9:30. Tickets are $7 and ALL proceeds will go to medical centre.
March 10, 2005 Ethical Consumption Day! This year's ECD promises to be even better than the last. Come out and learn more about being a concsientious and ethical consumer. Workshops, seminars, fairly traded goods and more in the Michel Pujol room of the SUB at UVic. |

Clubs Days We set up an info booth to tell UVic students about WUSC (September and January).
Sub-Regional Meeting UBC Campus. One day workshop to brainstorm events, meet new committees, learn about WUSC for newcomers, meet WUSC-Ottawa Staff, share tips for SRSP.
Annual General Meeting Ottawa. Workshops on Indigenous Perspectives (2001-02 theme), WUSC field projects, cultural studies, debrief for Seminar participants, elections to the national board, resolutions debated, keynote speakers, cultural presentation and banquet.
Bellydance Fundraiser Held at a local bar downtown and combined with a slide show about a participant's work in a community in Nepal.
Speaker Series The committee has hosted many speakers who have shared their stories and presentations of working in the field. In some cases cultural elements have been included in the presentations. Topics have included: Education in Viet Nam, Microcredit in Viet Nam, Nepalese Refugees, AIDS in Africa and Botswanan Refugees.
Regional Meetings Three day workshop hosted by a committee. Includes speakers, workshops, discussion pannels, cultural presentations, sharing of resource materials around the annual topic. Topics have varied from Indigenous Perspectives for a Sustainable Future to Banking, Education and Culture Programs in Developing Vancouver's Downtown East Side. 2002: Calgary 2001: Vancouver (UBC)

Sweatshop Fashion Show Featured clothing from the area and gave the geographical and economical history of their manufacture. Topic: Child Labour and Fair Trade
