     The battery decamped from Back Creek, Berkeley County, WV on the 1st day of
     August for Romney, WV and arrived at that place on the 5th.  Distance marched
     sixty miles.
September - October 1863 Romney, WV
November 1863 Springfield, WV
     The battery decamped and marched from Mechanicburg Gap, WV on the 6th day
     of November 1863, a distance of nine miles and encamped the same day at
     Springfield, WV.  The left section was ordered to accompany an expedition
     which marched from Springfield, WV November 9th, 1863 at 1 o’clock PM
     arriving at the Old Fields near Moorefield, WV November 10th at 2 o’clock PM.
     Distance marched thirty-three miles.  No enemy being found, the section
     encamped near that point for the night.  Decamped November 11, 1863 at
     6 o’clock AM and marched for Springfield, WV, arriving at 12 o’clock M.
     Whole distance marched sixty-six miles.  The other section was ordered to
     accompany an expedition which marched from Springfield, WV November
     16th, 1863 at 3 o’clock PM arriving at or near Reynold’s Gap on the Moorefield
     Road, Hardy County, WV November 17, 1863.  Distance marched twenty-seven
     miles.  No enemy being found, marched for Springfield, WV November 18, 1863,
     arriving at 12 o’clock M, November 19, 1863.  Whole distance marched fifty-
     four miles.
December 1863 Springfield, WV
January 1864 Cumberland, MD
     By order of J.M. Campbell, Colonel Commanding, the battery decamped the      
     night of the 4th of January 1864 and marched from Springfield, WV to Green
     Spring, WV.  Was then carred and arrived via Cumberland, MD on the morning
     of the 5th of January 1864.  Whole distance twenty-five miles.
February - June 1864 Cumberland, MD
July 1864 Bessings, MD
     The company decamped at Cumberland, MD July 8, 1864 and marched to      
     Martinsburg, WV distance sixty-two miles.  From thence to Snicker’s Gap, VA
     via Harper’s Ferry, Sandy Hook, MD, Berlin, MD, Lovettsville, VA, Hillsboro
     And Percyville, VA arriving July 18, 1864.  Distance fifty miles.  Here the
     company was engaged with the enemy for three hours from thence to
     Winchester, VA via Berryville, VA, distance nineteen miles, arriving on the
     22nd July, engaged the enemy on the 24th near this point in which Privates
     George Lorentz, Stillman Young and E Bennett were slightly wounded.
     Retreated to Harper’s Ferry, WV via Martinsburg, WV, Williamsport and
     Sharpsburg, MD, arriving on the 27th of July, distance fifty-nine miles.
     Resumed the march July 30th and encamped near Bellsville, MD, distance
     twelve miles.  Decamped on the 31st and marched to Blessings, MD,
     distance seventeen miles.  Whole distance marched during the month
     one hundred-nineteen miles.
August 1864 Charlestown, WV
     The company decamped on the 1st of August near Blessings, MD and
     marched to Hallville, MD, distance two miles and encamped.  Decamped
     August 5th and marched to the east side of the Monocacy via Blessingville,
     Hamburg, Brookhill and Fredrick City, MD and encamped, distance
     twenty miles.  Decamped August 6th and marched to Pleasant Valley,
     distance sixteen miles.  Decamped August 8th and marched to Keyes Ford,
     distance five miles.  Decamped August 10th and marched to Cedar Creek, VA
     via Berryville, White Post and Middletown, VA, arriving on the 12th, distance
     forty-three miles.  Decamped August August 16th and marched to Charlestown,
     WV via Middletown, Newton, Winchester and Berryville, VA, distance thirty-
     eight miles, arriving on the 20th.  On the 21st, marched to Halltown, WV  
     distance four miles.  Decamped August 28th and marched to Charlestown, WV
     and encamped, distance four miles.  Whole distance marched the month of
     August, one hundred thirty-two miles.
September 1864 Maryland Heights, MD
     The company decamped at Charlestown, WV, September 3, 1864 and marched
     to Berryville, VA, distance twelve miles.  From thence marched to Summit Point,
     VA, September 8th, arriving on the same evening, distance five miles.
     Decamped September 16th and marched to Maryland Heights, MD, distance
     fifteen miles. Whole distance marched thirty-two miles.
