Summer 2001 On June 9th we lost our dear mother and Nana of 93 years. All who knew and loved her were touched by her kindness and love and felt privileged to have known her. God Bless you Momma Last August 2000 I was started on Kidney Dialysis with a AV Fistula (arterio-venous fistula) which only lasted two weeks. This began a series of grafts, and retries of AV Fistulas and in the meantime a Catheter was inserted in the neck for access. I began feeling like the ole WVgal about January 2001 and in July of this year we were able to begin using an AV Fistual in the upper arm. I get up at 3 am to be picked up by medical van at 4 am and make a 30 mile trip to a neighboring town for dialysis three times a week. My sessions last about 3 1/2 hours and with time spent getting on the machine and off I usually don't get home until 11:30 am. Then it is time for a snack and Nap. I am so lucky to have this treatment inorder to be able to enjoy life and love my family. Talk about friends boy, have I ever made new friends both patients, patient's families and staff it is an honor to know them all. It is a very light weight model and very pleasing to the eye and me. I am still in the process of adjustments and fitting and will add more information as I go through this process. For more information on Amputee click on LINK. I needed to make my house a little more "Jane" friendly inorder to get around in it a little better. Thus the idea of a yard sale became the most obvious idea.....have you ever done this? What an experience and I still ended up with a yard to mow....Over a two weekend period I watched with amusement as wonderful characters came down my driveway coin in hand and the excitement of finding the bargin of a lifetime. The cherish antique organ stool went to OK and I just know they will love it as much as we did. As the last day came to a close a small whisper was heard "never again". Family Update My kids are getting ready for another year at the University....Matthew is working on an engineering major and Stephanie a business degree. Connor, who is 2 1/2 the grandson is going to experience his first year of pre-kindergarten. I was assured by my daughter that all had gotten new duds, new shoes and of course that student symbol new bookbags. Good Luck kids for a wonderful, exciting new year. September 2001 I guess none of our lives will ever be the same after September 11th....the world as the we US citizens had known it changed in a blink of the eye as we watched an airplane crash into World Trade Center. Our prayers and hearts are with each and every person who experienced death, injury, and the lost of feeling safe. Our nation has enclosed us in the feelings of patriotism with flags, prayers, songs, poems ...but in truth it is our individual time that we spend with our Maker that will give us our strength and support.
