Champ
Champ, that says it all
doesn't it........
The people at the shelter thought you were invisible. They left
you alone in your kennel for 2 days, not even sure if you were well enough to eat or
drink, not sure if you had. Then, they called rescue, and they called us too late.
Our vet didn't give him great chances. You didn't have parvo but you did have something,
your temperature was low and you stomach felt hard in places. And after a couple
days in the hospital, you couldn't fight anymore and we let you go.
Poor little guy. Forget that you probably would have been ok if
we had known that you were suffering alone in a small cage in the middle of an 'animal
shelter' and forget that you exposed all the other little ones to whatever you had and
they are still there. Forget everything about your life on the planet which only lasted
for 9 weeks or the fact that you never got to weigh10 pounds.
You will not be forgotten. You did not die alone or unloved. And
we will fight to keep this from happening again.
I hope someone met you at the Bridge to carry you over. We don't
want you to have to wait for any of us after everything you had to go through here..
And when we rescue another young pup, one with your eyes, we
will name him Champ................and we will keep telling the story of your much too
little life.
