Pledging
The pledge period's purpose, according to the Constitution of the Kappa Phi Club, is to:

"Give each pledge the opportunity to become an active member by acquainting her with the purposes, responsibilities and activities of the Kappa Phi Club"

"Provide an opportunity for the development of leadership and fellowship among pledges and actives"

"Develop an understanding of and the dedication to the work of the church and community through study and service"

In order to fulfill each of these aims, the pledge class participates in a number of activities throughout the pledge period, which lasts 6 - 8 weeks:

- Attend weekly chapter and pledge meetings
- Plan and implement a service project
- Plan and implement a worship program
- Plan and implement a fundraiser
- Attend the sisterhood retreat
- Create a banner
- Create a scrapbook

Athough these requirements may sound a bit overwhelming, the pledge period is designed to create true Christian sisterhood and a better understanding of the Kappa Phi Club. The women who go through the pledging process usually commit 2 -3 hours a week to the Kappa Phi Club.
