| the first Prototype of this plane called Bf109V-1 was ready in august 1935. it was powered by 695hp 12 cylinder Rolls royce Kestrel engine. the Bf109V-1 first flew in September of 1935. Six Prototype were manufactured until 1936. these pre production models saw early action during the spanish civil war. Although they were used in small numbers,they proved to be a formiadable aircraft. they were superior to any other fighter held by the opposition and showed that with some modifications, this type of plane was ideal for large scale frontline operations. After the spanish Civil war some units were modified, and their engine was replaced by a more powerful engine and beated several world speed records which remained un beated for almost 20 years. On september 1st 1939, when Germany invaded Poland , 200 bf109 were in service and later became the stardard German fighter planeudring the first half of the war. |

| the Bf109G was the most comon variant and was considered one of the most powerful . It endured the hardest days of the war in the air, fighting against low alttitude russian bombers as well as heavy american bombers high up in the sky. This ability to effectively handle many different tasks made it one of the most famous fighters in the world. the Bf109 was armed with two 7.92mm MG17 or 20mm MG151. it could reach the maximum speed of 630km/h. Over 5000 units were manufactured throughout the war and many remiained in service after the war in the airforces of many countries such as the Spanish airforce and even Isreal |
