| Heinkel He111 was Luftwaffe's first modern medium bomber. The plane was designed in 1934 and the first prototype ( He111 V-1 ) had its first flight in February 24, 1935. It was first designed as a passenger plane, but since it was more suitable for military uses it was used by the Luftwaffe as a bomber. As many other German planes and Vehicles , it saw service with legion Condor during the Spanish civil war. Despite recieving a good reputation during the Spanish civil war, it proved to be underarmed against the RAF fighters. In October 1940 , they withdrawn from daylight missions and were used for night raids over england. He111 was a 4 to 5 seated medium bomber which was later modified as torpeda bomber and even V-1 Launcher against England. I could reach the maximum speed of 415km/h and maximum range of 1200km. The final He111 operational was General Franco's personal plane which flew until 1960s. |
