| Skoda's light tank model 35 ( LT Vz.35) entered service in the Czechoslovakian army in small numbers. czechs considerd the LT 35 as an interim solution until the LT 38 was fully developed. It was known as an unreliable tank due to its untested advanced technical design. In 1938 those problems were solved and the LT35 proved to be a reliable tank comparable with Polish 7TP, British Vickers 6 ton, Soviet BT26 and German Panzer III. In 1938 -1939 German took over Czechoslovakia and confiscated all 219 LT35s. LTvz35s were designated as Panzer 35(t) (T for Tschechisch-Czech). they were modified by the Germans by adding radio equipment and an additional crew as a loader to increase the rate of fire. Panzer 35(t) was used by the Germans during the Polish campaign and French Campaign and even early stages of operation Barbarossa. it was in service until late 1941. In late 1941 It was Obsolete and Germans had better tanks for the front lines so Panzer 35(t) was withdrawn from the frontlines and was put to second line duties. After it became Obsolete its chassis was used for several conversions suck as Panzerjager35(t) or Morser Zugmittel 35(t) artillary tractor and even command vehicles. |
