SouthMUN
About
Welcome to the official site for the Model United Nations club at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in West Windsor, New Jersey.  Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations. Members of the club attend conferences in which they represent officials from various nations. These conferences are hosted by prestigious univeristies both in and out of state, and the students are judged on how well they adhere to their country's position, as well as their performances in debating the issues and the topics at hand. Awards are handed out at the end of each 4-day conference. Model United Nations at South is a time consuming yet exceptionally rewarding experience for the members. Try outs are held before each competition  in order to determine who will fill the limited amount of spots at conferences. .

At try-outs (mocks), every delegate is assigned a country and is asked to represent the nation's views in his/her topics within a commitee setting. Committees simulated during the try-outs are the same as those at the actual conferences.

Although,  Model UN does require monetary investment, no delegate will be turned away due to an inability to pay.  Furthermore, mocks cost $5 each in order to pay for lunch. If the delegate brings his/her own provisions, he/she is not required to pay the attendance fee.

MUN is an excellent addition to any college resume but that should not be the main motivation for joining this club. We are a family that learns, develops, lives, and competes together. To truly be a part of SouthMUN, you must respect and enjoy the tight-knit team spirit. We love new members and we enjoy adding deserving delegates to our group.

If you are a parent or a student and have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact any of the officers. Email addresses as well as phone numbers are available on the "Contacts" page of this site.
