On my first trip to India, I met a man at Puttaparthi who had been to Thiruvannamalai to the Ramana Ashram. He told me of the delightful vibrations there. I felt I should go. I went to the Ramana Ashram for a couple of weeks before I left India. I arrived at the Ramana Ashram near midnight. When I first entered the ashram, I could not believe how peaceful it was. It was suffused with a peace I have never felt before in my life!
Ramana is one of India's most beloved Saints. Ramana spent many, long years absorbed in Samadhi. Ramana taught Self-Enquiry as being a path to Self/God Realization.
Ramana's ashram is situated at the base of Mount Arunachala. Arunachala is one of India's most sacred mountains. One of the largest Shiva temples, in all of India, is located within close proximity to it.
The main temple within the Ashram has a main hall that has life sized pictures of Ramana. Ramana's grave is also located next to the main hall. His presence is very strong. It is almost even tangible. I spent two weeks there.
What is interesting about my experiences with Ramana is that I never had even one vision or dream about him for 8 years. I had only visited the Ramana ashram that one time, yet, 8 years later, I began having extremely powerful and beautiful visions of Ramana.
In my visions of Ramana, Ramana is always very powerful, gentle and usually silent. His silent presence usually conveys what words could never do. His presence is suffused with great peace and Love. During a particularly difficult time in my life, Ramana once came to me in a vision. I could see him very clearly and although he did not speak, I could hear his words. With a gentleness and deep understanding in his eyes, Ramana told me, and these were his exact words, "Everything you aspire to be~ Everything you yearn to become~ You already are~ And always have been~" Then, Ramana talked to me about Love and his presence was charged with a Love that I had never felt before. Perfect and fulfilling.
As with Ammachi, Baba comes in dreams with Ramana too.
Ramana says that the path to Self Realization is very simple, however, we are the ones who want to complicate it with the mystical and complex. After all, you already ARE. Simply Be. |
