Training Schedule

I've never been much of a runner and only started running when I started to date Sheri. Sheri, now my wife, is a very serious runner and introduced me to this world. I figured as long as she was going hiking/camping/climbing with me, I could run a few races with her. I had a great time running these races. Sure they hurt while I was running them (I didn't do any training, of course, as that would be hard work), but the feeling of accomplishment and camaraderie before and after the race was intoxicating.

I've since going through a few training programs: twice to run marathons and twice to run faster times in a 10K. In 1997, I made a run at breaking 40 minutes in a 10K. I ran a 40:35 in the Bolder Boulder (results incorrectly reported due to dropping my race tag) and a 40:12 in the Longmont Sunrise Stampede. Close, but no cigar. Doing this training is a lot of work. I'll have to make another run at this before too long or I'll be too old. It's hard to fit in the training with biking, climbing, hiking, kids, work, etc.
