| Durham Buffalo Ranch is located 30 miles south of Gillette and is the largest herd of bison in existence. The ranch is 55,000 acres. Bison from the ranch have been used in Hollywood movies, such as Dances with Wolves. |

| When I stopped to take a picture of these bison at sunset, I stepped into an ant hill up to my knee - and spooked all the bison away with my sudden shriek. Who would have thought that such large animals would be scared by little old me. |
