I.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for management of the operation of the plant, while complying with all safety and environmental procedures and cGMP.  Responsible for developing a strong quality-oriented culture.

 

 

A.  Primary Responsibilities:

* Planning and scheduling for the production of drug product per cGMP procedures.

* Plan and execute qualification studies as required.

* Manage and direct plant personnel.

* Evaluate and develop staff.

* Plan and administer the plant budget.

* Conduct capacity planning.

* Assist with facility and process improvements.

* Provide technical expertise.

* Assist with problem solving.

* Promote teamwork.

* Effectively interact with other departments, customers and vendors as needed to ensure on time delivery according to specifications.

 

B.  Other Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Signing authority per corporate procedure(s).

V.    Job Qualifications (the minimum requirements necessary to perform the job duties):

 

A.  Education:

BS/MS in engineering, mechanical or chemical, or other scientific/technical disciplines combined with pharmaceutical manufacturing training.

 

B.  Experience:

10+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years of experience with aseptic filling.

 

C.  Knowledge:

CGMP, plant construction, plant utility and equipment operation, automation, basic analytical test methods, safety and environmental regulation.

 

D.  Skills:

Leadership, people, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Must be a hands-on individual who enjoys developing junior staff and who can model appropriate behaviors with respect to problem solving, safety, quality assurance, and communication.
