- My first entry, and the start of one of my New Years resolutions.
I will be making entries in the future regarding my resolutions. So to prevent any procrastination and backpedaling I will spell out my resolutions publicly.
- Stop drinking sodas, cold turkey. They are not healthy in any way and they
are preventing me from achieving several previous goals such as better sleep
and weight loss.
- Stop "planning" business ideas and start putting some into action.
You can't succeed if you don't try but failure is only a sure thing if you
sit on your ideas.
- Start and maintain this blog. This is mostly for my own benefit as described
above.
January 1st, 2006 - 10:35pm
- Day 1 without sodas has been successful even with massive amounts of temptation.
- I have researched the required expenses for my first business idea and it
won't take much, less than $250 to get it running for two years. This should
be fun and interesting as a learning experience.
- I have been considering a polyphasic sleep schedule starting with my surgery.
I will post more info about that later.
January 2nd, 2006 - 9:35pm
- Day 2 without soda and barely even a craving. I do have some withdrawel
pains and I know they will get worse with time.
- The more I consider the polyphasic sleep schedule, the more I like the idea.
A good source of info can be found here.
January 7th, 2006 - 7:51pm
- Seven days in and still no soda. I have started craving fruit juice though
(a replacement for the sweet flavor?).
- I am recovering from my nose job, I just hope it has the intended effect on
my REM sleep.
February 12th, 2006 - 8:45am
- It's been over a month since my last entry and to tell the truth I've sorta missed making regular entries. It's hard to tell if my nose job helped me sleep better since my wife is now pregnant (she tosses and grinds her teeth in her sleep while pregnant).
- A month and a half without soda and barely any cravings. Not only do I feel better more often, but I also stay very well hydrated with anywhere from one to three liters of water per day. I feel much healthier since I got over the addiction.
- I have had multiple business ideas so far, but without startup capital it's very hard to start a business. Even with an inexpensive idea you still need at least $100 to get a good start. That does not include any business that requires inventory, that figure is for getting started online only. Hopefully adding Google ads to my current websites will allow me to have some startup capital.
February 20th, 2006 - 9:05pm
- After a long and busy day I'm winding down to take it all in.
- I found a MUD to call home that is willing to accept my story in full.
- I finally got a reply from Google's Ad Evaluation Team about possible employment.
- I tore myself away from that addictive DarkThrone game a little bit longer today.
- Another week without soda and still no craving. I've had to ignore a few comments about being crazy for wanting to do completely without, but it is worth it.
- I've tried to enjoy the four day weekend despite everyone in the house being sick and me being the only one to watch after the kids. That's life sometimes.
February 24th, 2006 - 1:18pm
- I have removed all Google Ads from all of my web pages and started filling out all the forms needed to become a temporary Google Ads Rater.
- I have gotten to know both of the other people working on the MUD a little better and I am looking forward to working with them for years to come. The players are a little shy to make suggestions so far, but once they realize that suggestions will only improve the end product then we'll see more suggestions (I hope).
- I have not given up on my business ideas, nor will they take a back seat to any game. They will get put on the back burner for a while due to the second job though. Hopefully the income from this job will be enough to get a respectable startup capital stash going.
- Updates and upgrades on this website... Well, I've made a few minor posts but I have not sat down to plan the layout, graphics, or scripting yet. Truthfully, if I can get better bandwith than this free Geocities hosting provides it will affect what gets planned into the site when I do get around to it.
