TAN 8....It's a mad, mad, mad world ! |

Tan 8 (Technical Advice notice 8) is the latest pro wind wheeze from the Welsh Assembly. A controversial attempt by its planning authority to designate certain areas of Wales as sites for intensive development.
Whilst the rest of Wales - not protected by planning restrictions -is seen as suitable for small developments...less than 20 turbines !...the areas identified within the TAN 8 document are seen as suitable for large scale developments....100+ super turbines.
Remarkably,the anonymous grey suits who have drawn up this ill conceived document,have targeted many of Wales's most beautiful areas including our very own Hiraethog and Clocaenog Forest...25% of which will be clear felled for development.

Conwy Planning committee overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to construct an eight turbine wind farm at Cwm Pennaner.
A further three turbine development at Llangwm was withdrawn by the developer when it became clear that it would be thrown out by Conwy Planners. |

Denbighshire CC planning committee
followed the advice of its planning office and overwhelmingly rejected the controversial Wern Ddu scheme by 20 votes to 1. A stunning victory for common sense. |

The signs are that the Dutch development company who wish to exploit Mwndwl Eithin and thus offer a slap in the face to those who value Welsh history and culture.....Mwndwl Eithin is the supposed burial place of Myddyn,better known as Merlin the Wizard...have been jolted into sudden action by nearby Cwm Pennaner's rejection by Conwy CC planners.
