Me... Bouldering at City of Rocks in Idaho...
Welcome to this wyrd little wyrld on the web...

This WyrdWyrld mini-site is a precursor to the full-fledged WyrdWyrld.Com and WyrdWyrld.Org sister sites that will be launched before the end of this year.

WyrdWyrld.Org will be a non-profit venture intended to focus on something very near and dear to my heart: BEAUTY.

Now, BEAUTY is a very general term and quite relative to each individual.  But I find beauty in everything, and this site will be a guide to the beauties I would hope anyone can find and enjoy... those that are all around us in this world.

There is beauty in adventure; in experiencing the thrills of life and nature; in exploring the depth of the human mind and the power of our creativity.  These are the beauties we should all be familiar with on some level.

So, take a look around... find an adventure or a serenity you have never experienced before, or find a favorite pasttime and share your stories with the rest of us.  This site is intended to be a forum -  I will share my experiences, and I would like you to share yours.  For more information on how to submit content for this site, see the next page.

And most of all... ENJOY!

Who am I?

My name is
Don... and I am on a mission:  To experience life to its fullest.

I was born and raised mostly in Idaho, the heart of the Rocky Mountains, where there is more protected forestland than any state outside of Alaska.  Although I have lived many places, including large cities like Chicago, there was always something drawing me back to the beauty of Idaho.

I have traveled through nearly every state in the U.S. and I have always seen something wonderful; something beautiful; something to inspire.

My next goal is to start traveling the world, to experience everything I possibly can.  I still have much of my life ahead of me to do so, and I do not plan to slow down.  Finding the world's beauty has become an addiction, albeit a good one.  There's only one cure, and I hope to avoid that as long as possible.

I once struggled with identity, depression, sense of place, love, hatred, loss, pain, desperation, economics, politics and most other experiences people find day-to-day.  But at some point along the way, I found something else... Beauty.

Of the multitudes of places on this earth that strike a potent sense of awe in the soul, City of Rocks, Idaho (a.k.a. The Silent City of Rocks) was the first place that offered me an all-around experience:  interactive adventure (rock-climbing, hiking), historical importance (pioneer inscriptions, relics) and pristine, scenic beauty (photos cannot do justice).  All of this protected by National Reserve designation, due to its historical and geological significance. You can read and see much more about this treasure within this site.
