Becoming a member of the Union is easy. Once in, you will join a group of new and veteran nations which have joined together to seek a better region through cooperation.

ENTERING THE UNION
Entry into the Wysterian Union is different from other organizations in the region. Whereas other regional organizations have relatively simple and informal application processes like adding a post to a membership thread, the WU process is careful, deliberative, and formal. While it may be slow moving, you will find the detail and rp necessary to gain membership illustrative of the rich detail in which WU institutional decision making is rp'd.

PROCESS FOR ENTRY
To petition for membership, candidate states should complete the following steps in the order they are listed:

1. Contact a current member state and inquire about joining. You will find a list of member states in several places throughout the site. Please do not post a reply on the Wysteria discussion board and then send a message asking why you were never contacted about membership. Depending on the turnover rate of new posts, we may miss the thread with a request on it and may never get in touch with regarding that request.
The nation you contact will be your sponsor. That nation will advise the other Union states that you wish to become a member.

2. When you have requested membership, you will then be expected to read the entire  Union Treaty and agree with its contents. You will be expected to add your signature to the document once you are invited to join. As part of your petition, you may be asked questions by your sponsor or any other Union states. These questions serve to clarify why you wish to join and help to edify members on where you stand and whether you would be a good fit for the Union. If you continue to progress with membership, your sponsor will submit legislation to the WU senate for a quorom vote on your candidacy. If the legislation succeeds you will be contacted by the Chancellor of the Union who will invite you to join.
