| The World Youn Wha Ryu Association Judge and Referee Certification courses are taught by Craig A. Jordan. Grand Master Han has made three classes of judge and referee certification: Class A Referee Class B Judge Class C Judge |

| Class C Judges are primarily responsible for judging forms and sparring at World Youn Wha Ryu Association Tournaments. To become certified a person must be a black belt, at least fourteen years old, and pass a written and practical exam during the training course. The practical exam will cover judging forms and scoring points in real tournament situations. The written exam will be multiple choice and cover the rules and regulations of our tournaments covered in the Class C Judge Manual. 100% is required on both exams to pass this course. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Class B Judge/Referees will also be primarily responsible for judging forms and sparring matches. Class B Judge/Referees will also be trained to referee sparring matches. The requirements to become a Class B Judge/Referee include passing Class C Judge Certification, over eight hours of judging, scoring, and refereeing, and passing two more exams with 100% scores | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Class A Referees are the head referees at tournaments. They are required to have a minimum of twelve hours training judging, scoring and refereeing. They must also have been a class B Judge/Referee for at a least two prior tournaments. Class A Referees must train and study the sparring bracket systems and become experts in running an entire ring. They must also be familiar with breaking and other types of competition. Again the only passing score on both exams is 100%. Grandmaster Han believes this to be the most complete way to assure safety, professionalism, and fairness at our tournaments. This sets a higher standard for all martial arts practitioners and organizations to follow. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
