Youn Wha Ryu Aerobic Kickboxing is a program that was developed by Craig A. Jordan, 3rd Dan Instructor from the St. Louis Missouri Division.  Craig took techniques from many other programs and from Youn Wha Ryu to create an invigorating, kicking, punching, and sweating workout.  Each workout begins with a 10 minute warm up to get the blood going.  Then punching and kicking combinations are practiced for about twenty minutes.  The last few minutes the class does circle drills to increase technique proficiency.

Next comes the bag workout.  Students put on boxing gloves and punch and kick punching bags.  This improves their self defense technique and provides a custom workout for each student.  Beginners are encouraged to go slower and light and advanced students are shown extra techniques to enhance their workout.

The last 15 minutes of class includes a lot of deep stretching to reduce muscle soreness.  Then comes the challenging  abs and glutes exercises.  This is designed to tone and tighten those problem areas.
The Youn Wha Ryu Aerobic Kickboxing has been taught at many dojangs, community centers, public schools, and YMCA's.  The main kickboxing center for the Missouri Division is at the YMCA in South County St. Louis.  Craig A. Jordan teaches these classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights followed by a Youn Wha Ryu Class.  Nick Brewer is also teaching kickboxing at the Jefferson County YMCA, in Festus and Crystal City, on Tuesday and Thursday nights. He also holds a Youn Wha class after Kickboxing. Each class has been limited to 45 students to increase the individual attention each student gets.
