  L.A. heavy metal band System Of A Down are finally making an impression. The band was originally named Soil in 1993. In 1995 Daron Malakian wrote a poem named System Of A Down and System Of A Down became the bands name. The band was signed to thie current label American Records in 1997 when a producer saw thier amazing live act. The next year "System Of A Down" the band debut album was avalible. "War" was the first single. The song raised some conterversy because if it's lyrics. After it was released System Of A Down was asked to play at Ozz-Fest with Tool, Sevemdust, Coal Chamber, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Megadeth, Motorhead, Snot, The Melvins, and Monster Voodoo Machine. "Sugar" was the second single. It was a fast, and heavy song. System Of A Down was now getting plays on metal stations and MTV. System Of A Down released two more videos then went to record a new album. "Toxicity" was the name and "Chop Suey!" was the first single. It was a fast song with quick guitar riffs, and fast singing. The song wasa breakthrough hit on MTV, and rock and metal radio. It was even nominated for Best Rock Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Toxicity" debuted at #1 on Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The song shot up rock, and metal charts and System Of A Down were highly knowen in the hard rock world. System of A Down took part in the Pledge Of Allegiance Tour with Slipknot, Rammstien, Mudvaynet, No One, and American Head Charge. System Of A Down dropped "Toxicity" as the bands second single. The single, like "Chop Suey!" was massive. It was also a hit on rock chartst. The video had many special effects. The two earlier songs lead to "Streamline" by System Of A Down to be feautured on the Scorpion King soundtrack with P.O.D, Drowning Pool, Flaw, 12 Stones, Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Mushroomhead, Injected, and more. System Of A Down played at the KROQ Weenie Roast with Kelly Osbourne, P.O.D., Puddle Of Mudd, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, The Strokes, Rob Zombie, and Papa Roach. "Aerials" was System Of A Down's third single. The single was a massive hit on rock charts. It has highly requested on rock, and metal radio and dominated MTV airplay. It topped the Billboard Modern Rock Charts and the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts. It even was nominated for Best Hard Rock performance at the Grammy's, but was beat out by the Foo Fighters. While doing so System Of A Down part in thier second Ozz-Fest. Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Drowning Pool, P.O.D., Adema, Black Label Society, System Of A Down and more were part of the act. The name was from a sixty's book "Steal this Book." The album is all "Toxicty" out-takes. "Innervison" was the first single. It has done well on rock, and metal radio requests. It is also climbing the Billboard Modern Rock Charts. "Steal This Album" debuted at #15 on the Billboard Top 200. The second single was "Boom." The song is an anti-war song that is diffrent from other System Of A Down songs. The video was directed by Micheal Moore, who directed the documentry, on how American's are obssessed with guns "Bowling For Columbine." The video shows how many people around the world are protesting war, and has over 3,000,000 people in it. There is also an animated George Bush, Osama Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussien, and Tony Blair riding missiles. The war deeply affected guitarist Daron Malakian, because he has close relatives in Iraq, who were involved in the war. His relatives even shocked US Troops when they asked if they heard of the band, showed them pictures of them with Daron. Daron also has directed Taproot's video for "Mine." He started directed when he assisted Marcos Siega in directed "Chop Suey!" Since then he did "Aerials," and "Toxicity." System Of A Down are currently in the studio.
