Alexisonfire (pronounced "Alexis On Fire") oringinate from St.Catherines, Ontario. The band formed in September, 2001 by the five current members. The hardcore band quickly ganed regonition after they played the Toronto show on the Vans Warped Tour 2002. At the show nearly 10,000 EPK's were released. Southern Ontario, and Northeastern U.S. crowds soon caught onto Alexisonfire's unique sound as well. The bands fusion of singer George Pettit's screaming, and Dallas Green's more medolic voice, make Alexisonfire one of the most distinct Canadian indie bands. On October, 29 2002 Alexisonfire's debut album "Alexisonfire," was released on Distort Entertainment. In late spring 2003 Alexisonfire's first video hit Muchmusic airwaves "Pulmonary Archery." The video soon became highly requested and even topped the Powershift chart beating out 50 Cent, Eminem, RHCP, and other heavyweights. The video was even nominated for a Muchmusic Video Award for Best Independant Video. They were up against Swollen Members, The Salads, Not By Choice, and Sam Roberts but lost out. The song picked up heavy Collage Radio too and hard rock radio stations, as far away as Detroit. The second single was "Counterparts And Number" them, which is currently rising charts. The video shows Alexisonfire rocking out in a park with kids. It was directed by Mark Ricciardelli, who also did "Pulmonary Archery." Alexisonfire have also recently opened for big names acts like Gwar, Glassjaw, Hopesfall, Juliana Theory, punk legends The Misfits, and nu-metal chart toppers Disturbed.
