| In 2002 many new rock groups broke out. Hoobastank, Injected, The Vines, The Hives, all expeirenced big breakthroughs. The Phoenix band started off in 1999 when vocalists David Bowers and Doug Rid Moore formed a band. They got a bass player, guitarist, drummer, and DJ/turntablist. David's rock singing, and rapping mixed with Rid's aggressive rapping and an altervative background and a hip-hop flavoured mixing board made Trik Turner up. A year after the band started they got signed to a label and released thier independent album "Black Seas And Brown Trees." Two years later Trik Turner released thier self-titled major label release. The album has many of "Black Seas And Brown Trees" cuts on it. The first single to be released was "Friends And Family." The song sounds like a cross between Sugar Ray's song" Every Morning" and Crazytown's hit "Butterfly." The video has two of the same story plots but in one video it has two boys growing up, and in the other two girls growing up (Boys Version, Girls Version.) The video picked up a Buzzworthy on MTV. The album "Trik Turner" debuted at #98 on Bilboard. The song "Father" was written by David and talks about how his father used to treat him so badly. The album also deals with alcohol addictions, drug abuse, and other issues. "New York Groove" is an intense song sung by Rid. The song goes from rap to heavy rock to rap and so forth. It has Kid Rock like chorus too. Trik Turner have toured and played with Staind, Linkin Park, Crazytown, Injected, Default, and more. | Bands Rap Rock Limp Bizkit |
