For Reference only: Crude attempt If you are more visual, this might help. A while ago, I collected the info on various rims I was considering and drew it up to scale, just to see how it all sets up. Top Rims are Stock 15 x 7 +40 Offset 5.5 Backspacing some say 5.25, but that depends if you measure before or after the inner rim.. since A/R use the outer measurement in their lists, I did as well. Left column are 15 x 7 rims Right column are 15 x 8 rims You basically can see how different rims push the tires further from the hub and by how much |
Depending on which rim you end up with, combined with which tire size you pick, there might be some added strain to your steering components, as well as increased rub to the mupflap area, front air damn, front and rear wells. Most of the rub can be cured with cutting the plastic concerned... snips, exacto, dremel all work well, and are barely noticable. |
