GPS / Laptop Set Up |
With the amount of road time we've been doing, I decided to invest in a Garmin Map76. Nice unit, good definition on the screen. I then hooked it up to my laptop which sits between the seats. |

A little $$$ but worth it I've only got the Fronts, I use a nylon bench seat cover for the rear, because I have dogs. Easy to wash.. delicate cycle in the washing machine, and let air dry. I haven't had that much of a problem with the seats as far as comfort, but I did try a heat/vibrate cushion seen above. At 6'2" it pushed me too far forward and made my driving position uncomfortable. It did help my wife though (bad back on long drives) there is enough give with the seat covers to install the cushion underneath them, so no one is the wiser. Just plug it into the aux plug when needed. |
X-tra Aux. Plugs |
For the above GPS/Laptop install, I wanted spare aux plugs to keep the wiring mess to a minimum. Power was drawn from the front spare fuse slots (Ign. Switched) and I added a kill switch so power is controlled when needed. Its a self contained box with 3 plugs and caps so no dirt can get into the sockets when not in use. Radio Shack usually carries them. |
I've got dogs, and at times I have to limit them to the rear cargo area. Easy solution is using a standard cargo net, Attached to the corner ceiling hooks and to the loops that hold the seat backs in place. I've replaced my ceiling and rear backseat carpet caps with nylon loops, so I'm able to tailor the fit. When needed, I can use the net to divide the front from back with the rear seats down . Note>> all the bungy cords have nothing to do with the net, its just my way of storing the sizes I use the most for cargo. |
I also found that the exterior basket net can be used as well, maybe not as tailored, but it does work. |
