Reverse Lights
Back to Home Index
On Low and aimed at the sides.
The bracket it drilled into the lip underneath the bumper
I might make a second bar or housing just to protect them further.
These are proper reverse flood lights, and not FOGS.. others have tried this location and said it was useless, I use my sideview mirrors more, and can tell where my rear wheels are going.
Step one:
Get to the rear light assembly
( 2 screws by the hatch ), pull straight back.
there are 2 plastic pins into the body.

Tap into the reverse power wire ( top bulb ) feed this wire into tha cabin
Step 2)
I didn't want to tap 100% of the power from the reverse lights, so I used a relay, triggered by the reverse lights.
I removed the rear driver's side panel, the red wires go from the reverse light (step 1), to a switch ( not seen ) and to the relay.
Power is drawn by tapping into the aux. plug back there using an inline fuse, ( I protected it with foam for rattles)
There is a perfect ground in the corner, so I used it to ground the relay as well as the lights.
As you can see, there is a hollow cavity in the corner.. keeps the relay and connections neat and protected.
The wires to the lights ( power & ground ) go down into the bin.. ( there is a rubber gromet at the bottom already ).. and out to      the lights.  All the exterior wires are in conduit, following the bumper.. out of the way from being snagged by anything.
The way I connected these lights, they will come on with the revrse lights only, or not at all.  Its illegal to run reverse lights while driving, and here in Quebec, it's illegal to have them operate seperately.
I've added a kill switch in the back hatch area, and later, added a second kill switch in the front under my dash
