When I kissed you, girl, I knew how sweet a kiss could be
I know how sweet a kiss can be
Like the summer sunshine pour your sweetness over me
Pour your sweetness over me

11:13pm

Mulder locked the door behind him quietly as he crept into the
dark house. He toed his shoes off and kicked them into place beside
a dainty pair of heels. An increase in reported UFO sightings and
missing persons had seen him out of town for a few days on
organization business. Scully had managed to cover for him at his
work. She had to lie through her teeth once again. He hadn't been
able to talk to her since he left three days ago. He was looking
forward to hearing the tale Dr Scully had managed to spin for his
supposed medical leave of absence. Mulder smiled down at her shoes.
With any luck she would still be awake.

Mulder tiptoed up the staircase making sure to be extra quiet. He
could see a faint light shining from their bedroom door. Mulder was
willing to bet she had the lamp on with a book in hand as he
silently approached the doorway. He peeked inside and sure enough
she was in bed on her side facing the doorway. She was propped up
by her elbow and a small mountain of pillows and appeared to be
engrossed in the book she was reading. Mulder smiled as a large
yawn took possession of her sleepy face before she turned to the
next page. He cleared his throat to make his presence known. She
jumped slightly and looked up with a startled expression on her
face. Fortunately she realized it was Mulder before she dove for
the gun on her side table.

A smile spread across her face as she marked her place in her book
and placed it next to the weapon. "I called you three days ago to
tell you my husband is out of town and you decide to show up now?"

Mulder grinned as he slid out of his leather jacket and hung it in
the walk in closet. His belt came next then his t-shirt, jeans and
socks landed in the hamper. With an exaggerated sigh he flopped
down onto the bed and buried his face in his pillow. The pillow
carried the scent of her hair and pleasantly assaulted his senses.
"You've been sleeping on my pillow." Scully smiled at the muffled
mumbling coming from the man next to her. She kicked the bed covers
off her legs and swung one over him so she could straddle his hips.
Mulder groaned in appreciation when her fingers dug into his tense
shoulders.

"Aaah you're too good to me Scully."

"Mmm don't I know it." She bent forward to deliver a small bunch
of warm affectionate kisses between his shoulder blades. "So what
did you find?"

"Honestly? Not much."

Scully sighed, sharing his disappointment. Truth be told she was
relieved to have him home information or no information. A grin
took hold of her sweet face as she stared at the back of his head.

"So your superiors think you're suffering from a severe hemorrhoid
problem for nothing?"

He felt the evil witch shaking with glee when his head shot up
from the pillow.

"You didn't?"

"Oh yes I believe I did."

He bucked beneath her with such force that Dana Scully actually
squealed. Mulder flipped over and pinned her beneath him and
watched as she struggled in vain to contain her laughter.

"Scully." His tone was all business. A small snort escaped her and
that was all it took for him to launch into action. Before she had
a chance to protest his fingers flew to her sides and attacked her
ticklish ribcage. "Mulder!"

It didn't matter how well trained a G-Woman she used to be; Scully
was helpless in a tickle match. "Mulder stop! I was joking!" He
laughed in her ear as her head tossed from side to side against her
pillow. He could feel her squirming beneath him. She bucked her
hips in an attempt to throw him off. He was too heavy for her
struggles and she was too weak with laughter to succeed. She was
determined not to give up and maintained the thrusting of her lower
body. He felt her hands pushing at his shoulders and chest and
grabbed a hold of them effectively pinning her wrists above her
head.

It only took a moment for Mulder to realize exactly how much he
had missed her over the last few days. Her arms above her head
caused her breasts to lift and jut forward enticingly before his
eyes. He watched as they bobbed up and down in time with her
movements beneath the light blue silk of her pajama top. The
spaghetti straps had slid from her shoulders and hung limply over
her small but toned upper arms. Everything looked so delicious;
from her twinkling beautiful eyes and the shrieks of protest
escaping her ripe mouth to the delectable collarbone beckoning to
be suckled and the insistent motion of her pelvis.

He felt his excitement growing as her lower half rubbed against
his. With a brief thought to what a sucker he was for her; his
tickling became caressing. He managed to drag his eyes away from
her silk clad breasts and lock gazes with her. Her lips were curved
in a warm smile and the press of her pelvis to his switched from
aggressive to sweet in half a second. Mulder grinned and caught her
warm mouth beneath his own. She opened immediately to accept his
tongue and locked her legs around his hips. They both moaned as the
length of his growing arousal came into contact with the soft heat
hidden beneath her silk pajama shorts.

Mulder had started to speak but she clamped her mouth firmly over
his and sucked his tongue into her mouth. He moaned against her
lips and ground the evidence of his arousal against her singing
center. A dose of pure magic hit her veins as his rigid flesh
rubbed against her clitoris through two thin layers of material.
Her mouth separated from his with an audible pop as she rolled him
onto his back and straddled him. With her arms behind her
back she settled her palms firmly on his knees for balance and
leverage. Her eyes closed as she increased the friction and
sensitivity between them by rocking her hips forward and back. She
laughed when Mulder's voice drifted up to her ears.

"You know there are perks to having a frequently interrupted sex
life."

The fact that they were driving each other to the brink of no
return simply by dry humping was not lost on Mulder. He felt like a
horny kid again and so did Scully judging by the way she was riding
him. "Lift your arms." She did as asked and Mulder slid the scrap
of summery silk up her torso and off her body. He sat up and
splayed his hands along the middle of her back to draw her breasts
toward his eager mouth.

Then the phone rang.

Mulder sighed in frustration but continued on his journey to her
left peak. His mouth closed around the stiff nub of flesh as she
reached out to the side table and snatched the phone from its base.

"Hello."

"Hello Dana. It's John."

"John, what can I do for you?"

Mulder's mouth immediately ceased all activity. He sat there
quietly with his tongue mid swipe over her nipple.

"I apologize for calling at this hour but
something has been brought to my attention that I think you and
Mulder will be quite interested in.."

"I know I was saying earlier that there are perks to a frequently
interrupted sex life but I think I've changed my mind."

Scully held a smile in check over Mulder's playful whining. They
both knew a call from John in the middle of the night always meant
business. She was tingling with excitement. She hadn't been out on
a field mission in months. Scully looked up when she heard
footsteps rushing down the hallway toward the office.

"Charlie? Michael?"

"In the flesh. You guys get a call too?" Charlie dropped into the
seat next to Scully.

Scully turned to face her. "Yeah around half an hour ago. Do you
know what this is about?"

"No idea but it better be good. Jasin's down with the flu and-."

Charlie closed her mouth when she saw the door to John's office
open. Their aging superior smiled uncomfortably and gestured them
inside.

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I apologize for my
vagueness on the phone and for the late hour. I didn't want to go
into detail until I had you all here." He paused to drum his
fingers on the surface of his desk. Michael spoke up.

"John?"

John sighed and leaned back on his chair, his hands formed a
steeple beneath his chin.

"I just want you to know that I knew nothing of this until today.
There are so many different departments and projects and it would
be impossible for me to be involved in all of them."

Charlie was concerned and it showed on her face. "John whatever it
is.. We trust you."

John gave them all a once over before retrieving two files from
his desk drawer. He tapped them against his palm before speaking.

"Around twenty years ago the organization began experimenting with
genetics and clone DNA to create a superior breed of clones. We're
talking about heightened intelligence and strength, better memory
and sharper senses, a keen sense of creativity and of course logic.
Along with the perks came the downfalls. These clones also
inherited higher levels of psychosis and suicidal tendencies. They
were prone to obsessive compulsive and/or manic depressive
behavior. There were very few satisfactory results and even fewer
have survived."

John paused to allow them to digest the information before leaning
forward to hand the two files over. "I think you will be especially
interested in these two."

Mulder and Scully exchanged a glance before flipping their file
open. Scully's eyes widened. "Whoa." Mulder's breath tickled her
ear as he leaned in to take a closer look at the photo clipped to
the inside of the file.

Scully heard Charlie muttering over her own file. "Why am I not
surprised?"

John waited while the two couples swapped files and quickly
scanned over them. Charlie was the first to speak up.

"We learned about Fox and Dana years before we met them. Why were
we not told of these two?"

"I have no idea. Like I said earlier I didn't know about them
either until recently."

"Okay.. I take it they need our help?"

"It appears that these two are the only completely successful
results of the experiments."

Scully joined in to the conversation. "On what do you base that?"

"They're completely normal. There have been no suicide attempts
and they both appear to be quite stable, they are both extremely
intelligent and highly creative. They're at a good age to be
brought into the loop. They're still young and impressionable and
eager to learn. My superiors feel that they will continue to
flourish if introduced to the proper environment. They are our
creation after all and we can take them by force if we must.
However the right environment needs to be appealing to them as well
as us. We're going to take it through official channels and have
them transferred to the care of willing organization members.. I
thought it might be best to offer the opportunity to you first."

Charlie's eyebrows rose in amusement. "You thought a couple more
additions to this warped family wouldn't go astray?"

"Look I'm sorry to put you all on the spot like this. I wish I had
been warned. This assignment is optional. I will understand
completely if you choose to not take this on board. However since
they are genetically related to all of you I figured working the
family angle couldn't hurt.."

Michael sighed and rubbed his temples. "What are we in for? How
attached are they?"

John smiled. "They've never met."

Michael nodded. "Well that makes things easier."

Charlie's head whipped around to stare at her husband. "Are you
seriously considering this? Michael we've got three children at
home and one son at college who frequently comes to visit. We need
to think about the impact this is going to have on them."

She turned back around to face John. "I don't know about Fox and
Dana but we're going to need some time to discuss this. Can we get
back to you?"

John smiled sympathetically. "Of course."

The Mulder Residence
2:00am

The four of them sat nursing coffee in the living room. Mulder was
frowning into his mug. "This is a very weird situation to be in."

Scully smiled. "Weirder than those prehistoric bugs we found that
time?"

"Definitely weirder. We're being asked to parent ourselves..
basically."

Charlie was chewing on her lower lip. "What are we going to do? I
don't want to say no.. but I've got children to think about. John
said they were successful but.. What if they tried to hurt one of
the children? What about you guys? Surely you're planning to start
a family of your own soon.. Will you feel comfortable having them
around your baby?"

Michael squeezed her shoulder tenderly. "We were them once upon a
time Charlie. Wouldn't you have given your right arm for a family?
We're both results of experiments. We know what it's all about."

"I know Michael." She paused to sigh. "I want to help.."

Scully peered at Mulder who appeared to be deep in thought beside
her.
"What do you think?"

He exhaled slowly and drummed his fingers silently over his knee.
"I think.." He paused to think over his answer. After running his
fingers through his hair he looked over at her.
"I think we should take this on board."

Scully's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Mulder.. Are you sure?"

He nodded slowly. "We've got plenty of room in the house. I'm sure
we'll have plenty of time to work out if they're stable enough to
be around children before we actually fill the house with the
pitter patter of little feet."

Charlie jumped in before Scully could reply. "No you guys
shouldn't have to take both of them. Besides they're sixteen,
they're still babies. They shouldn't be pushed into adult
relationships and close living quarters. Being a foster child
forces you to grow up quicker than you should and Michael and I
were both robbed of our innocence too young. One each is fair. I
think we can handle that."

Michael slid an arm around his wife's shoulder and smiled. "I knew
you wouldn't hold out. You're too much of a generous sucker."

"Look who's talking."

"I think it will turn out okay Charlie. I don't think the kids
will have trouble adjusting. In fact I think this will blow their
minds."

"What? Being able to party with younger versions of their parental
units?"

"Exactly."

Charlie smiled and took another swig of coffee.

Mulder looked around at the other three. "So we're going to do
this?"

Michael and Charlie nodded. Mulder looked to Scully and she
appeared a little hesitant.

"Who takes who?"

Michael answered. "I think we should take the boy. We've got three
boys around his age constantly at our house. I think Mark, Justin
and Robbie will happily take him on."

"How are you going to explain him to Justin and Robbie?" Mulder
was smirking at Michael.

"Well he's fifteen and I'm forty so obviously we don't look
exactly alike. Just eerily similar. We'll tell people he's my
cousin. I don't think it will appear suspicious."

Mulder nodded and looked over at Scully. "We'll take her?"

She nodded her consent and smiled a little hesitantly before
lifting her mug.

"To self parenting I guess."

Charlie laughed and reached out to clink mugs with Scully.

"To self parenting."

2 Weeks Later

The four of them sat behind a two way mirror looking into a
sparsely furnished room. A white leather lounge faced the mirror,
in front of the lounge was a low coffee table and seated directly
in front of the mirror was a low arm chair with the back facing the
group in the small viewing room.

"Feels like old times eh Scully?" Mulder shot a side long grin at
his wife before turning back to the room. They all watched as the
door opened and a young girl barely standing at five feet and two
inches shuffled inside. She tucked a long strand of wavy cinnamon
hair behind her ear as her piercing blue eyes settled nervously on
the mirror.

"Wow. Talk about a blast from the past." Charlie's voice emerged a
touch above a whisper. Scully couldn't speak; she was mesmerized by
the sight of a sixteen year old image of herself live and in the
flesh. An odd wave of amusement washed over her. She had been such
a shy and self conscious teenager. It was only now that she
realized there had been no need for such feelings. Her replica
projected the image of a pretty sixteen year old girl. She was a
little on the skinny side but it was nothing a few decent meals
couldn't fix.

The girl took a seat on the lounge and dumped her canvas back pack
at her feet. She tucked her hair behind her ear again. Mulder
recognized the gesture immediately; she was nervous. It was hard to
fathom such a young and vulnerable Dana Scully. Her face was still
soft and sweet. She hadn't yet developed the structured and angular
features of Scully and Charlie. Her fashion sense was certainly
light years behind her mature doppelgangers. She wore beaten up
flared jeans with a hole developing over the left knee. Her little
feet were encased in scuffed skate shoes that were probably white
once upon a time and her snug black t-shirt bore two words
emblazoned in bold white font across her breasts.

BITE ME

Mulder grinned and slung an arm over Scully's shoulder. She seemed
entranced by the young girl. She couldn't take her eyes off her.
The door opened once again and the girl turned to look over her
shoulder as a young man sauntered in. He threw her a glance before
dumping a black back pack at his feet and flopping down on the
lounge. His sleepy hazel eyes tracked the room lazily and landed on
the mirror. His mouth twitched into a smirk and he threw another
glance at the girl on the opposite end of the couch. She didn't
appear to be paying him any attention. Her eyes were locked firmly
on her kneecaps. Never one to just keep his mouth shut the young
man spoke up.

"What's up with that mirror?"

The young girl looked up and eyed the glass warily. "I thought it
looked a little 'SVU' when I first came in."

His smirk grew and he kicked his denim clad legs up to sprawl
haphazardly across the coffee table. She eyed him with a barely
concealed sneer of disgust. "Manners don't cost anything. They're
free you know?"

"Uptight much?"

"I am not uptight."

"Uh huh."

She rolled her eyes and went back to staring at her own denim clad
kneecaps.

"So why are you here?"

Without looking at him she replied. "New foster parents."

"What happened to the old ones?"

She shrugged. "They said they were moving east."

"Did you like them?"

From his profile view of her he could see her jaw tighten.

"They were okay I guess."

He remained silent momentarily to see if she would make
conversation. None was forthcoming. Being someone that was curious
about everything and everyone didn't always work in his favor but
it was a tough habit to break.

"Is 'they were okay I guess' really code for 'It was me who told
everyone they moved back east because I hacked them up into a
hundred pieces and buried them under the floorboards.'?"

No smile. Her face remained completely blank and her reply was
equally flat in tone.

"You got me."

He eyed her for a moment before continuing.

"So what's your name?"

"Brodie."

"Brodie?" He gestured as if wanting her to continue.

"Just Brodie." Being someone that was paranoid and had a difficult
time trusting people she was hesitant about giving details such as
her full name to complete strangers.

"Pleased to meet you 'Just Brodie.'" He paused to shoot her a grin.

She frowned and glanced at her wrist watch.

He smiled almost sympathetically. "I wouldn't start sweating on
the time. You know how these things go. We'll probably be here for
hours."

Her eyes rose to meet his. "New foster home too?"

"Yep."

She nodded and looked away again, this time her eyes came to rest
on the coffee table.

"You don't say much do you?"

Her eyebrow rose but her eyes didn't move to meet his. "Maybe I
don't have much to say."

"That's okay. You can just listen."

Finally a ghost of a smile appeared on her pretty face.

"My name is Lukas by the way."

You're my piece of mind, in this crazy world
You're every thing I've tried to find
Your love is a pearl
You're my Mona Lisa
You're my rainbow skies
And my only prayer is that you realize
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes...

The silence in the car was oppressive. Mulder glanced over at
Scully from the driver's seat. She was staring out the passenger
side window with her face turned partially away from him. He knew
she was still wrapping her head around this decision they had made.
*He* was still wrapping his head around it. Fox Mulder was now the
legal guardian of a sixteen year old clone of his wife. When did
his life get so messed up? He almost laughed aloud at that thought.
Life had always been messed up; it was just reaching an all time
high or low depending on how you look at it.

Mulder's eyes flicked up to the rear view mirror. Brodie was also
staring out of her window. Both women appeared to be apprehensive.
He could only imagine the utter chaos that must be rampaging
through the young girl's mind. Mulder knew she had only agreed to
go along with the whole situation because a lump sum was on offer
for her eighteenth birthday. His own clone had agreed hesitantly to
go along with Michael and Charlie. They were mind boggled over
their new knowledge of who they were and how they came to be. The
older replicas hadn't yet burdened them with the existence of
extraterrestrials. Both Mulder and Scully and Michael and Charlie
had agreed to hold off on that particular bombshell. They didn't
want to overload the kids. They already had enough to deal with.

Mulder pulled into the driveway and killed the ignition. They all
sat quietly for a moment. He unclasped his belt and looked over his
shoulder at Brodie. She was staring up at the house through her
window. Mulder studied her heart shaped face carefully. Brodie's
expression remained completely blank. Not a sign either way of
whether she was pleased or disappointed. He thought he spotted a
slight twitch in her cheek but it vanished as quickly as it
appeared. Finally she pulled her gaze from the window and turned to
face him. Their eyes met briefly and she immediately glanced down
at her hands.

Mulder frowned; she avoided eye contact a lot. Meanwhile Scully
had unbuckled herself and exited the car. She bent down to offer a
small smile through the open door.
"You ready?"

Brodie nodded and made her way out onto the driveway. When Mulder
popped the trunk she immediately drew her bags out and politely
declined his offer to carry them inside. Mulder shrugged and set
off with smile. Another stubborn mule in the house was all he
needed. Once he had the front door open he ushered them both inside
before closing it behind him. Scully hit the lights and tossed her
purse on the foyer table. Brodie slowly took in what she could see
of the house. She hadn't been expecting anything so nice. Come to
think of it she'd never been inside a house as nice as this one.
Instead of feeling pleased over her good fortune she was
immediately uncomfortable. She didn't like playing the role of the
poor beggar at the castle gates. Somehow the castle gates had been
opened and now she felt even more inadequate than before.

"You have a really nice home."

Mulder blinked in surprise. She hadn't once opened her mouth
unless spoken to since meeting them. Scully smiled kindly. "Well we
haven't always been this fortunate so we went a little overboard.
Why don't you put your bags down for now. You need to choose a
room."

Brodie hesitantly placed her bags on the floor either side of her
and stuffed her hands into the pockets of her beat up jeans. She
wasn't feeling one hundred percent. Fighting a wave of dizziness
she managed to squeeze a few words out. "I get a choice?"

It was Mulder who answered. "There are some limitations. You can't
have the attic because we need the storage space and you can't kick
us out of our room because Scully will fight you to the death for
her
en suite. Other than that it's all yours."

Brodie nodded distantly and looked toward the staircase. The
entire situation was beyond weird. All her life she had wanted
answers about her real family. For as long as she could remember
her head had been filled with fantasies about a warm safe place she
could call home. Some place where no greedy hands existed to fondle
her innocence into nothingness beneath stark bed sheets. Why did
reality have to be so complicated? She had no real family she was a
clone. This little fact had sharp edges and continually poked into
her thoughts catching her by surprise each time. As the edges of
her vision grew dark and nausea rolled in her belly she felt a bead
of sweat run down the back of her neck. Never in her life had this
happened. Before she got the chance to feel properly humiliated
about it, she passed out.

Over at the Moore residence..

"Our son Mark lives on campus so he's happily vacated the room for
you."

"Thanks a lot Mrs. Moore."

Charlie laughed and gave him a little prod in the middle of his
back to urge him forward into her son's old bedroom.

"It's Charlie and Michael. No Mr. and Mrs. around here. We're too
young for that."

Lukas smiled and dropped his bags on the bed.

"The closet and all the drawers are empty so make yourself at home
and unpack. The girls are out right now but they will be back later
tonight with some friends you'll see hanging around here quite
often."

"I gotta say this is the nicest place they've sent me too so far."

Charlie grinned and sat on the edge of the bed. She patted the
space beside her and Lukas lowered himself after a flash of
hesitation.

"This time around it's going to be different. I know it's too soon
to start making grand declarations. It takes time to build
relationships and to establish trust but one thing I can promise
you is a home if you want it. You don't have to worry about the
next lot of foster parents. There doesn't have to be another set if
you want it that way. You share the same blood as my husband and my
children. It doesn't matter how it came about the main point is we
are family. If you give us a chance to show you what it's all about
I don't think you'll be wanting to leave in a hurry."

Lukas smiled. He wasn't sure of what to say. The last few hours
had been overwhelming. What was a boy one step up above a street
kid supposed to say when a home and family were dumped in his lap
like rare and unexpected gifts? Charlie smiled and ruffled his hair
before standing up.

"Get settled. Come downstairs when you're done and we'll give you
the grand tour."

"Thanks.. Charlie."

"Don't mention it."

Scully watched as her own eyes fluttered open to greet her from a
sixteen year old face. Her young clone blinked in confusion. Scully
brushed her knuckles gently against a pale cheek. "You passed out
sweetie."

"Oh. Oh I'm so sorry." Brodie began to sit up. Scully stopped her
by placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "It's okay Brodie. Just
stay down. Relax for a minute."

Mulder appeared over Scully's shoulder with a cool damp cloth.
"Doctors orders in this house are really Doctor's orders." Scully
smiled and took the cloth from him to press it gently against
Brodie's forehead. The young girl appeared to be studying Scully's
face. When their eyes locked hers skittered away to land on the
gold cross resting above Scully's collarbone.

"Have you been feeling ill lately?"

Brodie shook her head. "No I uh I don't know what happened. I've
never passed out before. It was interesting.. but I don't think
I'll be wanting to do it again in a hurry."
The two adults looming over her chuckled. She ventured a glance up
at them. They seemed like kind people. Maybe she could grow to like
them. It was too early to tell but she wanted to believe.

Scully smiled down at her. "Do you like pizza?"

Before Brodie could answer Mulder interrupted. "Scully *everyone*
likes pizza."

Finally they managed to drag a smile out of the young girl.

"Yes I like pizza."

"Anchovies?"

Both women screwed up their noses in distaste.

"Okay no anchovies."

Moore Household

Lukas hung the last of his t-shirts in the closet. He didn't own
all that much clothing. Just enough to get by. The bang of the
front door and the sounds of conversation drew him toward the
bedroom door. He could hear people shuffling inside the house
downstairs.

"Mom? Dad?"

"In the kitchen guys."

Lukas made his way out of the bedroom to peer over the railing.
Twin sixteen year old girls were sauntering into the kitchen.

He made his way down the staircase and into the kitchen. He had to
give the girls credit for keeping their cool and not giving into
the temptation to squeal about their sixteen year old 'father'.

Michael made the introductions. "Lukas these are my daughters Dana
and Dani. A word of warning; they will tease you mercilessly if you
let them get away with it. They're also known for practical jokes
and incessant whining. If you have any problems with them just let
me know."

Lukas grinned at the cries of protest and the jab to Michael's
ribs delivered by Dani's elbow. Michael slung an arm over her
shoulder and pulled her into a headlock. "Where's Justin and
Robbie?"

"Robbie couldn't come because his foster mom has some dinner thing
on and Dana decided to ditch Justin for the night."

Dana rolled her eyes. "I didn't *ditch* him. I told him all of us
will do something tomorrow when he gets off work. It would be
stupid having Robbie and Justin here tonight anyway. We need to get
our stories straight before making introductions."

Charlie let Jasin down off her lap and stood to clear his plastic
cup and plate from the table. "That's my Dana. She's the wise one
in this house."
