Where to from Here (written for the 1992 South California Anarchist Gathering Guide Book) by Chris Crass and Mike Tomorrow
	The anarchist movement is experiencing a resurgence of activity as the number of groups, networks, federations and periodicals has increased greatly.  At the hands of authoritarians and capitalists, we are bearing witness to the deterioration of society and the natural and logical alternative to this is anarchism.  Therefore as interest in anarchism continues to spread, it is the responsibility of anarchists to feed this hunger for liberation.  By way of flyers, leaflets, newspapers, journals, pamphlets, books, lectures, workshops, study groups, open meetings, gatherings and conferences, it's time to get the whispered word of freedom to the people. As  the numbers involved in the anarchist movement grow an urgent demand for organization must be made.  The aim of this gathering is to construct a unified anarchist movement in California and the western seaboard.  For much too long, individuals have felt isolated in their ideas and that isolation leads to stagnating frustration.  It is important to know that we are not alone in our struggles.  In San Diego a Food Not Bombs is organized; in San Francisco the Bay Area Web Collective publishes a new issue of its journal; in Los Angeles a solidarity demonstration is held for Peruvian anarchist Andres Villaverde; in Santa Cruz students riot against tuition increases - our beliefs in a better world unite us.  The strength of solidarity will help us usher in the new world; a world based on respect and understanding of freedom. It's time to get organized.  A call has been made for a West Coast Discussion Bulletin.  This will provide a much needed forum for debate and agreement within our Pacific Coast community.  There has also been a proposal for a West Coast Anarchist Gathering.  The Bay Area Web Collective has already established itself and a Southern California Web Collective is still in its gestation; the survival and development of each of these projects requires participation.  Together we can, forever we must. We have watched the communist empire collapse and now the soldiers of capitalism, dressed in business suits march across the world.  We have heard the science reports predicting the environmental death of our planet.  We have felt the impact of political domination and economic exploitation.  And we have know that there must be a better way. Its time to make the better way a reality.  By each of us coming together this weekend we have already provided a start, now let's keep moving.
