:Dawn Sisters Weyr::Tripaldi Weyr:

Several days later Oirana arrived at the Weyr, Eari flitting happily along beside her and the runner. She rode her runner into the weyrbowl and looked around her in awe. It was a very beautiful place, with the weyrlake off to the side and the cliffs rising up with holes in them for the weyrs. Then she gasped as a dragon landed in the weyrbowl. Her runner shied back the way they came and she would have let the beast bolt had not someone grabbed the reins at that exact moment.

Oirana looked down to see a woman looking up at her in concern. The woman said something, but Oirana just shook her head and the woman nodded in understanding. Eari informed her that the woman wanted her to dismount and follow her. She did so, grabbing her things as a young man ran up and lead away the frightened runner. Oirana watched the boy for a moment then hurried to catch up with the woman. She clutched her things to her chest, looking fearfully all around her as dragons came and went from the weyrbowl. Before long they were going down into the lower caverns though and she breathed a sigh of relief that they were away from the dragons.

Before long they entered a room that was undoubtedly the candidate barracks. Oirana chose a bed and packed her things in the trunk at the end of it then turned to look at the woman. Eari sent her images of Oirana following the woman again and she nodded, walking forward as the woman smiled and turned to move out of the room.

The woman led her to a board not far away that listed daily chores. Oirana found her name on the schedule and nodded her head to say she understood. She was to have chores to complete everyday and this was where she would find her assignments. She frowned though as she saw the schedule of lessons. The lessons were all apparently given orally and she asked the woman how she was to get anything from such lessons.

The woman smiled and indicated that she was to follow her again. Eari flew ahead of them, looking around curiously and before long they had come to a door, which the woman pushed open and walked through. Oirana followed her and saw the woman pick up a stack of papers from a table in the room. She frowned as the woman handed them to her and Eari sent her images of Oirana reading the pages in the barracks. She looked over the first two pages and realized it was a written version of all the lessons the other candidates would get! She smiled in thanks to the woman and turned to head back to the barracks and start reading, she didn’t have any chores to do until later that afternoon and she wanted to learn as much as she could in hopes it would diminish her fears.
