Earning Our Pay

Ok, fun's over, its time for that section where we nearly take out our eyes or lose our hands because of our readers thirst for the stupid.  And boy, do we have stupidness for you.

ArmorLoft UltraMini-Gun

Sensing a theme?  Here's an idea.  Take the vindicator, leave it in the wash, put it in the dryer and shrink it to one tenth the size.  Then chamber it in .45 and make it using young South American children and what do you have?  The ArmorLoft UMG.  This weapon is a pistol-sized, three barrel rotating assembly, with all the drawbacks of the Vindicator, and many, many more, without any of the benefits or style.

To combat the clunky need for a motor and battery to turn the barrels, the UMG has adopted a bastardized revolver type rotating action.  The first pull of the trigger rotates the barrels, and the blowback on the reciever powers the spinning action of the barrels.  The problem is, that once you get up to speed, you cant exactly stop quickly.  You also cant hold the thing, because its got the kick of a light machine gun with the grips of a .45 pistol.  And the weapon jams like a motherucker, and the clip carriers 100 rounds (yes, a CLIP, not a belt), so..well, you get the picture.  Thank christ the Sarge has got in the habit of stacking on the riot armour when testing these things.

Panfer Co. Assault Pistol

This weapon is a crime against intelligence.  It's a company producing a pistol weapon around the Panther Cannon's 20mm explosive round.  At least, we think its a real company.  No, we didnt test this.  Sarge says if he finds out who is trying to kill him he'll hunt them down and give them a third nostril.

LEMP Grenades

LEMP stands for 'Limited Electro-Magnetic Pulse' grenade.  The sales rep explained to us that this grenade was like a standard EMP grenade (as standard as those things can ever be), with the exception that its blast is 'limited' so that it doesnt interere with cyberware.

Apparently, the cyberdoc down the clinic told us(after Sarge drove me 80 miles back to civilisation while I was in the back having a seizure) that cyberware is much more sensitive than bulkier drone and consumer electronics, so that any blast powerful to take out a drone will also fry your cybernetics.  This is the lesson we learned...always back up crazy sales rep's marketting speeches with second opinions from people who know what they are talking about.
